It was great to be out campaigning in the 119th district this weekend. I am proud of the area I have been honored to serve these past two years. No matter where you venture, be that Rome, Utica, Frankfort, Marcy and everything between, there's always something new and inventive popping up. This is a welcomed reminder of what our area has always stood behind-hard work, culture, perserverance and fantastic culinary delights. It was great to speak to the 4th grade class at Marcy Elementary school today! It's always great to speak with young minds about the importance of civic duties and their local government.

The release of CARES Act funding will help provide the financial assistance that our non-for-profits desperately need at the moment. This is more than agencies at stake. This funding is for the well-being of our children, veterans, hungry, homeless and lower-income individuals. I’m urging Governor Andrew Cuomo to stand ready to augment and assist those who have suffered significant losses as a result of the pandemic and #FundNonProfits @melissadderosa

AFSCME’s fearless response to COVID will be its enduring legacy. Public employees and health care workers have carried the burden of the Pandemic- often literally- on their shoulders. Teachers, state troopers, nurses, first responders, hospital and nursing home employees. So many have sacrificed so much to protect us and keep New York State moving. I am thankful for their recent endorsement and look forward to our continued working relationship during the next term.
