We are so excited to announce that recitals are back at Matt's Music Inc.! Today we held two intimate recitals while following all safety guidelines. Featured in this clip is Aiden Gallineau, an incredibly talented young pianist. He is playing on Mr. Jeff's personal piano, which was donated to us by his family. You could feel the excitement from the audience as we listened to the outstanding performers! Our next recital day is May 23rd. Please see your teacher for details. The following students were selected to have their music lessons sponsored by a few of our generous donors Jeffrey Soos Jordyn Davis Aiden Gallineau Thank you to all of our donors for helping to keep music alive in Mr. Jeff’s honor! Our instructor Miss Kacy summed up many of our thoughts about our dear Mr. Jeff: The ray of light you were in this world is hard to put into words. I just can’t believe even when things will go back to normal you still won’t be at the music store. Every single day, no matter what you showed up ready to use your abundant talents, intelligence, and compassion to not only enlighten students and coworkers with musical knowledge but also to nurture our spirits with seemingly never ending positivity and love. Every good deed, smile, compliment, selfless donation of time and energy was humbly carried through. It was never about being recognized or praised, and always about making the people around you happier. It is no wonder how much we all love and appreciate any time we got to spend with you. You weren’t just a teacher at Matt’s Music. You are an integral pillar of our family. Myself, as a coworker and friend cannot even begin to comprehend how we can come close to filling your shoes, but I know you wouldn’t want me to lose faith. Every interaction I have with a student I will remember your caring, glowing energy that uplifted so many. Your legacy of optimism, goodness, and kindness will carry on. I don’t know anyone else who could make anyone feel like they could do anything, and that is just one of the many gifts you have imprinted on us. Mr. Jeff’s legacy will live on through the beautiful music of all the students he had the pleasure of teaching over the years.

How about some good news? We are excited to announce that all of our time slots for the Phil Bley Memorial Scholarship Auditions have been filled! We would like to thank our generous donors and the Bley family for their contributions to this scholarship honoring Phil, our dearly departed member of the Matt’s Music family. A total of $1250 will be awarded on Sunday, December 13, an increase from the initial $1000 we’d collected. We’re looking forward to hearing everyone’s fabulous auditions!

We are deeply saddened by the sudden loss of Phil Bley, one of our beloved Matt`s Music family members . He was a valued instructor for over 20 years. Phil is pictured with Rachel Birkman, who he considered to be one of his greatest students. We will miss him but are forever grateful for his musical legacy.
