What can you do to help your community? VOLUNTEER! We all have 24 hours in a day. We are ALL BUSY. Become a volunteer fire fighter. Although the departments need and appreciate monetary donations, we really need people to donate their time. There is something for all to do. Not all want to go into fires, not all want to do medical, that is ok. There is interior, exterior, and medical. Many departments also offer an auxiliary and/or an associate member. All departments could use the extra help at functions/ community events. Now is the perfect time to contact your local fire department and see what you can do to donate your time. The New York State Police will be hosting a child passenger safety seat event at the Maynard Fire Department Chicken BBQ, 9500 Maynard Drive, Marcy, NY, (Oneida... County) on May 15, 2021, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Our child safety seat technicians will be on hand to assist with the installation of your child’s safety seat and answer any questions.
