Step 3 of the McKenzie Method focuses on treatment and what will work best for the patient. Patients are encouraged to treat themselves. For this reason, patient-generated forces are used as a first resource. Where these forces are insufficient they are supplemented by clinician-generated forces, such as mobilization.
