Mrs. Jean Cordes was in all her glory yesterday, surrounded by her fully vaccinated family during our Mother’s Day celebration. Happy Mother’s Day to all of our 158 Meadowbrook moms!
Mr. Rodier looking pretty content, enjoying some live music under the sunshine
#NursesWeek2021 - When COVID-19 hit our region, our nursing team showed tremendous amounts of courage & compassion each and every day. Please join us in recognizing our RN’s, LPN’s, CNA’s & NSA’s. They are the foundation of health care.
We’re pretty sure the sun came out today in honor of Mrs. Gokey’s 102nd birthday.
Check out Mrs. Bruso’s new perm! Looking good, Loretta!
Dear Staff - Yes, it's true. Starting 1/12, COVID-19 testing will be two times/week (Tuesdays & Fridays). NYSDOH says so. But we are tough & we will do whatever it takes to Protect Our House.
Our team is dedicated, and it's noticed. Therefore, all full-time staff that worked 12/27-1/6 got $100 today; part-timers got $50. Just a little something to say thanks, because you rock.
In lieu of our weekly Staff Spotlight, this week we're recognizing our COVID-19 testers. They put themselves at risk to test 350 staff & 200 residents/patients, sometimes daily. This is dedication, folks.
Cassandra 's Meadowbrook. She 's putting smiles on our residents faces. Which is why she's going to be an awesome new Activities Aide! Welcome, Cassandra!
#ProtectingOurHouse: Staff from all over our house have been pitching in to help with laundry. The dedication & devotion from this team is second to none.
You won't be hearing the sing-songy voice of Karen at Reception for much longer; this bubbly two-year staffer excitedly accepted the Social Worker position! Way to go, Karen! #MakingMovesatMeadowbrook
Dr. McCullum/COVID-19 Vaccine Myth-Buster says.... "If you've already had COVID-19, you may be safe for approximately three months. The CDC currently recommends the COVID-19 vaccine for everyone who qualifies regardless of a history of COVID infection or not."
It can take a few weeks for the body to build immunity after getting the vaccination. That means it's possible a person could be infected with the virus just before or just after vaccination and get sick.

"Since our 12/31 update, 232 additional lab-confirmed COVID-19 positive cases have been reported." ~Clinton County Health Department
When a family dropped off treats for our 2-East staff, it reminded us that we are surrounded by support & hope...when we needed it the most
The first snowfall of 2021...
"The U.S. reached 10 million cases on Nov. 9. In less than two months, the country doubled its total number of infections."
We 'didn't start the fire', but we sure tried to fight it. And as long as we shall live, our residents, families, patients & staff will never forget 2020.
These individuals are a part of our family, and we will exhaust all resources to provide them with the best possible care. Paul Richards, Administrator
In just six months.... Please, please help us care for our vulnerable residents: stay home, wear a mask, protect yourself & those around you
"It is what it is and we do the best we can!" ~Mrs. Binion's favorite saying
Today is a tough day for our team. Thinking of our resident & staff member.
Please give a warm MBHC welcome to Katelyn & Tyler...our newest Neighborhood Support Attendants! These two fill a crucial role - providing assistance to our busy CNA's and nursing staff. Welcome aboard!
294 days since Mr. Gladue & the rest of our residents have been able to hug their loved ones. Yesterday, the Clinton County Health Department announced 242 COVID cases; we must be vigilant, or both numbers will continue to rise. #wereinthistogether
CNA Brenda isn't one for the spotlight. When asked to be the first of 350+ staff to receive the COVID vaccine, she was nervous...."But I felt this was much bigger than my fears." #getvaccinated
"I need a little sunshine to wake me up." Mrs. Schreiber looking serene in the sun
Neighborhood Support Attendants are responsible for tending to the resident's needs and supporting the efforts of our Neighborhood staff. Your typical day includes: Answering resident call lights (not related to hands-on care), making beds, tidying resident rooms and neighborhood work areas, helping with meal service, and transporting residents to enrichment activities. Ideal candidates should be in good health, be able to lift at least 25 pounds and possess good communicati...on skills. The position requires physical activity (standing, walking and bending) throughout most of your working shift. CHRC background clearance approval is required. We currently have Full-Time and Part-Time Positions available. Morning shifts begin at 7 am and evening shifts end at 8 pm. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to make extra cash in the evenings. Weekends and holidays are required. Applicants interested in becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) would benefit from the experience this position provides. Meadowbrook Healthcare is an equal opportunity employer.
On Tuesday, 65% of staff & 86% of our residents received their COVID-19 Vaccine! The second shot is coming on 1/11 which will be 95% effective. Residents & staff who didn't receive the shot will get a chance to get their first dose on that day.
"Next Christmas, I'll be 100!" Marjorie, and all of the residents & staff of Meadowbrook, would like to wish you all a very happy & safe Christmas
Bright-eyed Joan. #happyholidays
Mrs. O'Halloran in all her holiday beauty.
A fitting gift on the heels of 2020...CNA Jessica & all 325 employees received this gift from our Administrator, Mr. Richards. Who Moved My Cheese? is about dealing with change in a successful way.
Mrs. Dedominico & Santa. #WayBackWednesday to 2019's festivities...hopefully in 2021 Santa will be able to return.
Snazzy , Dr. Lacki!
"We hope that, with the vaccine, there is a light at the end of the tunnel for our residents..."
286 days ago we closed our doors to visitors, and today residents & staff are receiving their first COVID-19 vaccine. A long journey that is not over, but hope is in the air.
A monumental day in MBHC's history: Brenda Barcomb, CNA-extraordinaire of 30 years was selected to be the first to receive the COVID-19 Vaccine. And she took it like a champ.
Oh, how lucky we are to have a community like you! Our residents can't hug their loved ones, but we hope that the hundreds of gifts donated to them might help to lighten their spirits.
It is with great regret that we have decided to postpone ‘Songs for our Seniors’ which was scheduled for Tuesday, December 22. Despite Meadowbrook’s thorough plan to implement social distancing, hand washing and masks, we feel that with the recent uptick in COVID infections in our region that we should act with caution and postpone the event. We sincerely appreciate all those who planned to come and show our residents and patients that they care, but we must maintain our number one priority, which is the safety and well-being of the individuals we care for.
It's happening! Our residents, patients & staff have the opportunity to receive the COVID-19 Vaccine tomorrow, 12/22! Staff who consented can report to the Education/Training room between 9a.m.-4p.m. to receive their vaccine.
The smiling faces of Mrs. Bedard & our Physical Therapist, Taylor

For many people, coming to work in a health care facility during a pandemic might seem frightening. But for today's spotlight, this fierce individual not only has become a leader in the short six months she's been here, but she's not backed down to the challenges presented in the wonderful world of healthcare, in the midst of a pandemic. This impressive young woman has been working as an evening shift RN for a short time. Emma graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh this past May, ...and began her role at Meadowbrook as a Graduate Nurse immediately after. She then passed her nursing exam, and has been been bringing joy into the lives of our residents for the past six months. "I am grateful that Meadowbrook gave me the opportunity to work as a GN before passing the NCLEX and becoming an RN." Emma said. Nursing Home nurses have such a heavy load of responsibility: to be both the medical provider and the supportive caregiver to our residents. They have to be both scientific & compassionate. Though it's early in Emma's career, the fact that she has been recognized for possessing these characteristics is indicative of a path of success and many, many individuals will be lucky enough to call her their nurse. Congrats, Emma. Well done #StaffSpotlight #MeadowbrookHealthcare See more
