Today’s theme for the Alzheimer’s Association Memory Cafe was Candy. Apparently a theme that remains vibrant in the brain, heart and stomach Everyone enjoyed Candy commercial jingles and even showed us their favorite candy stored in their cabinet ( for upcoming trick or treaters). What is (or was) your favorite childhood candy?

Jean, Jean :ll This song/post is dedicated to Jeana former client/ person living with Dementia- who passed away this weekend. After 30 years in the field of Dementia, she was the first and only person who took me aside after one of our Music Therapy groups one day and asked me why people always HAVE to be with herand follow her around? She truly didn’t understand and what is most poignant ( to me) is that she trusted me enough to ask me to explain this to her. Sometimes people living with Dementia really cannot understand that they may be more than forgetful. It’s just one of many sad pieces of this disease for many. RIP my friend- or shall I say Dance in Peace! (She loved to dance)!
