Another successful Ground Crew Safety Training (GCST) was conducted at Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville, New York last weekend. Proper preparation and control of landing zones is critical to the safe execution of a Mercy Flight mission. We depend upon our #police, #fire and #EMS partners to identify and secure safe landing sites, notify the Mercy Flight crew of any relevant hazards, prepare the patient for transport and assist in loading the helicopter. This special ground school training is open to any public safety or EMS organization.
