Numerous slow moving showers and scattered thunderstorms will continue into this evening, producing locally heavy rainfall. This could result in isolated flash flooding especially in low lying, poor drainage and urban areas. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday. Heat index values on Wednesday could approach 95 degrees in parts of the Hudson Valley due to the combination of high humidity and very warm temperatures. Scattered showers and thunderstorms Wednesday afternoon will be capable of producing heavy rain and could result in isolated flooding of urban, poor drainage and low lying areas. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation may be needed.

Final Inspection Aerial Tower 1281
Lt. Kevin Dailey and FF Jeremy Wayman complete "Flash Over" training. This 3-hour intense Live Fire course instructs interior FF's to watch for conditions of flash over (when a area and contents reaches about 1100 degrees) presented by NYSFC. Thank you.

Chief Jerry Wayman and the Middleburgh Fire Department accepted a 2019 Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) grant for $51,869.00 with NO local share required. This grant will ensure our retention and recruitment program is funded for the next four years. First year will provide $35,749 for a new recruitment/retention/fire prevention sign on the fire house, also provide 8 new sets of turnout gear for new recruits after completing required training. Se...cond year will provide $8,060.00 for 2 new recruits complete set of new turnout gear. Third year will provide $4,030.00 for one set of new complete turnout gear for one new member and same for the fourth year. This funding is extremely important to enhance our operating budget. This will ensure new trained firefighters are fully protected and safe. Middleburgh Fire Department is very fortunate to have over 10 new members in the last two years and very important to retained our hard trained firefighters to stay with us. See more
