It is with a heavy heart that I am letting you know of the passing of our dear Vlad. Vladimir Safronov has been the head coach of Mid Island for the past 24 years. He was a remarkable man, a true gentleman. In addition to being a loving husband, father and grandfather, he was also an Olympic judge, a member of the Russian National Team, and winner of multiple medals at world championships. Vlad was thoughtful, kind, and truly loved by the hundreds of gymnasts whose lives he ...touched and influenced over the years.
