#Pregnancy and #Antidepressants: Should You Avoid Taking Them? Those who are pregnant or who may be thinking of getting pregnant may wonder if taking antidepressants could affect the health of the #child. New research from Mount Sinai offers some potentially important findings and shows that the underlying #mental health of the parents is more of a concern than the medication itself. The study shows that while there is a link between #maternal antidepressant use during pregna...ncy and affective #disorders in the child later in life, the link also exists between #paternal antidepressant use during pregnancy and child mental health, according to Anna-Sophie Rommel, PhD, an instructor in the Department of Psychiatry at Icahn Mount Sinai and first author of the paper.
