From our homes to yours, we wish you a happy holiday season and a prosperous new year. #ThisIsMizuho
Emergency food assistance continues to be a critical need in many U.S. communities. For Mizuho Volunteer Day, our San Francisco and Houston offices partnered with local hunger relief organizations, San Francisco-Marin Food Bank and Kids' Meals, Inc. to provide over 2,500 meals to children and senior citizens. We are proud to support nonprofit organizations addressing food insecurity in our communities. #MizuhoCares #ThisIsMizuho
During this year’s Mizuho Volunteer Day, Mizuho Americas helped front line workers and families in need by taking simple steps that have positive environmental and social impact. Gathering virtually, employee volunteers in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles participated in activities such as turning t-shirts into tote bags for local schools, building water filters for families in Haiti and handcrafting bars of soap to remove smoke residue for firefighters in California. A huge thank you to our employees for supporting the communities where they live and work, and our partners Materials for the Arts and Wine To Water for allowing us to do so! #ThisIsMizuho #MizuhoCares
Steeped in a tradition of 800 years, our London office is thrilled to have participated, together with our charity partner One Degree, in The Lord Mayor’s Show demonstrating our support for the City of London. The event, which is a three-mile procession through the streets of the City, welcomes in the new Lord Mayor, Vincent Keaveny, and is the world's largest and oldest unrehearsed procession, showcasing all that is great about the City. Mizuho’s bright and bold walking float was led by the traditional Japanese drummers of Taiko Meantime. #LordMayorsShow #ThisIsMizuho
Last month, nearly 200 Mizuho employees walked, jogged, or ran a 3.5 mile route as part of the annual J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge! The charity race was a "virtual" competition for the second year and in total, over 13,000 runners completed 16,762 runs, for a cumulative distance of 58,667 miles - or the equivalent of running 2.4x around the word. Congrats to all the runners! #RemixTheRun #ThisIsMizuho

Since June 19, 1865, Americans have celebrated Juneteenth as Emancipation Day a day of freedom. Marking the final milestone in ending slavery in the United States, it is a historic day that requires reflection, celebration, and action. Mizuho pauses to honor Juneteenth National Independence Day, our newest federal holiday. We recognize that, together, we must continue the hard work of building a just and equal society. #Juneteenth #ThisIsMizuho
In response to ongoing food insecurity in our local communities, we launched our first virtual Hunger Relief Week, featuring multiple ways to bring together Mizuho Americas employees across the US in donating food and funds. As we work to create a more unified future, misinformation and polarization present obstacles standing in our way. At our latest #MizuhoSpeakerSeries, we were joined by Jeff Orlowski, director of The Social Dilemma and founder of Exposure Labs for an insightful conversation about the realities of social media, and how his team is influencing widespread change in Silicon Valley. #TheSocialDilemma https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJ7iLHrbYso
Reflecting on the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., we are reminded of his words: Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Dr. King’s deliberate and thoughtful approach was forceful, without the use of force. We pause to honor a visionary whose example is as relevant today as ever. #MLKDay
