POSITION SUMMARYS We’re seeking an experienced Machine Shop Lead or experienced machinist looking for a career growth opportunity to oversee a small group on the afternoon shift. This role is responsible for leading the 2nd shift setup and operation of conventional manual and CNC machines such as lathes and mills in a safe and orderly manner. You’ll be responsible for ensuring compliance with all safety, quality and business standards, maximizing production output using effic...ient and effective methods. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee Productivity, Cost, & Delivery - Setup and operation of machines as well as productivity - Train, when needed, the use of conventional equipment CNC and manual machines to make parts from blueprints - Troubleshoot programs, tooling, and maintenance issues - Review blueprints, tool sheets, routings, and specifications for accuracy and manufacturability - Communicate corrections, ideas and improvement needs to your supervisor Quality - Monitor and document part quality, including first part and in-process inspection using tools, gages, and other methods - Assure compliance to standards and support audit activities as needed Safety - Adhere to and support safety procedures and policies Communication & Teamwork - Assist with troubleshooting, stock, and quality issues during shift - Assist with other duties such as maintenance, inspection, deburring, etc.as required - Document material usage on work orders and minimize scrap - Perform and document scheduled periodic maintenance and general upkeep of machines in accordance with recommendations - Maintain records of settings and processes within the scope of the department See more
