Older homes with lead service waterlines may have elevated lead levels. Contact your local housing agency or water authority for information about testing your drinking water or identifying lead plumbing in your home! Mohawk_Valley Water Authority is working to identify lead service lines in pre-1940 housing to protect the health of residents. There are about 2,500 lead and partial lead water lines in the Mohawk Valley service area that should be replaced. The Water Authority is encouraging residents living in older homes get their water tested for free at the Water Quality Department.

On "National Support Your Local Chamber of Commerce Day," we salute the Greater Utica Chamber, Herkimer County Chamber of Commerce and Rome Area Chamber of Commerce, as well as all of the Chambers we're affiliated with in the Chamber Alliance of the Mohawk Valley. With many thanks to our tireless Mohawk Valley Association of REALTORS, Inc. golf committee, we had a successful (and safe) golf tournament on August 5th to benefit the Military Rehab Program at Sitrin Health Care Center, raising $13,660 for this worthy local cause! Thanks to committee chair Jodie DeCosty and committee members Susan Schwartz Alberico, Brett Lojewski, David A. Smith, Megan Thornley, and from Sitrin, Cheryl Jassak.

Today is National Association of REALTORS (NAR) Dale Stinton Association Executive/President Appreciation Day. NAR thanks all local and state association executives and presidents for all of the work that they have done and achievements they have made in 2020. This year was not what anyone expected or hoped for but Association Executives and Board Presidents have all shown incredible leadership during a turbulent year, while navigating business and personal lives. NAR appreciates all that AEs & Presidents have done for members and consumers over the course of this year and beyond. Happy AE/President Appreciation Day, AE Ann Rushlo & President Amanda Reinfelds!
