Move This World 03.07.2021

See how our friends at Rolling Hills Engineering Academy from Lancaster ISD in #Texas kept moving this world this year with our interactive and participatory #socialemotionallearning curriculum. Even with students on Zoom or social distancing in classrooms, they still brought moments of play and fun while practicing critical skills. We know this school year has been different, and we're proud that our partner schools continued practicing #SocialEmotionalLearning to promote students' wellbeing, maintain a sense of belonging, and foster connections. Here, some of our friends from Lancaster ISD in #Texas are participating with the rest of their classmates over Zoom. This past year has definitely had an impact on students' #mentalhealth, including an increase in emergency visits for both children aged 5-11 and adolescents aged 12-17. As schools and districts plan ahead for next year, we hope that student mental health remains a top priority. #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth

Social emotional learning should be active, participatory, and playful! Emotions are not always comfortable to express, share, or discuss. Playfulness not only engages students in learning, but it helps create a sense of safety and makes it easier for students to be vulnerable. The BUZZ game is a favorite at Mangum Elementary Durham Public Schools! Learn more about our participatory, multimedia-based SEL programs for PreK-12: https://bit.ly/3lsJDK2
