Hope everyone is doing well & has dodged the second or third round of the flu that's been going around. We appreciate all our friends, whether you're here in our store or online with us - we wouldn't be where we are without you! We wanted to mention that for those of you that are interested, we've put together an evening with Nikon Technical Rep Alex Podstawski on Friday, March 15th, from 7-9pm at Lightworks / Community Darkrooms. We understand Alex will be speaking on the n...ew technology available from Nikon then fielding questions towards the end, and we know there will be some good questions for Alex! Please click on the link below to view the image that was posted on Feb. 21 that might be easier to read. You can enlarge the image or print it off as you wish. If you are interested in attending, please give us a call here in the store, at (315) 471-3103, as seating is limited to 200 & we'll put you on the list. As of this moment, there is still room to accommodate more. Please spread the word to your friends, too & if they'd like to come, we'd be happy to add them to the list. See you there! See more

Welcome aboard, all our new Facebook friends! And a good morning to all our friends - Facebook & in person! We're still in the throes of winter, but it gives us time maybe to look over our kits & go through our photos to see if there's anything we'd like to do differently next time. There are many new & inexpensive models of "point & shoot" cameras that allow the user superior flexibility, not to mention the ever-handy zoom lens or on-board flash features. Some of us love t...o take photos of the spectacular sunsets we have some evenings & have been disappointed at the quality/size of the images done on a camera phone, despite the otherwise stellar service they provide. Usually, one cannot enlarge any of the images much on the phone itself, so we emailed one to see if it could be printed off. We'll update you on the progress as the image sent about an hour ago hasn't been received yet...there must be a better way! (To be fair, this particular phone does send images to other phones quickly & easily.) For example, the new Nikon L610 produces .jpg images that are easy to share, not to mention the ability to adjust it's settings. So the next time we get one of those beautiful sunsets, we'll capture it on the L610 & try uploading it to our page here. See more

Some folks may have seen the post about us creating an album of photos & I've tried to do that, but due to technical difficulties way beyond my control, we aren't going to do an album after all. There wasn't any contest or anything like that, just sharing the photos. However, you should still be able to upload your photos, as others have done already. Sorry about getting people excited about that - I was kind of looking forward to it, too, but we will enjoy the photos we get through your uploads just the same.

Thanks to all our Facebook friends for your wonderful photos - what an amazing group of talented people we have in Central New York! That's the one of the greatest things about Syracuse, we're not only famous for having a lot of snow, we also have some of the most original & creative minds around! Whatever style you're attracted to; whether you consider yourself more of a purist or you tend to think "out of the box", there are always improvements to the tools we can use to achieve our visions. So stop in to dodge the snowflakes, say "hi" & share your favorite photos with us while checking out the latest generation of Nikon & Canon cameras. We also have paper, inks, bags, tripods & accessories. Hope to see you soon!

Thank you to all our Facebook friends - and welcome aboard to all our new friends! We're getting back to normal January weather after our brief thaw last week & many of us have had a chance to use any new equipment we received or purchased recently. Maybe now's the time to experiment with all those new features that we don't normally use, but always wondered about? If you tried something new (or just have a photo you love) on your new equipment and you want to share it with us, please feel free to post your picture to our page. We'd love to see your photos!
