Using a pull up resistance band is great if you’re try to increase your pull up reps and strengh. However, l only use them unless l absolutely have to, l rather allow you to use as much of your own weight as possible. That way you get the most out of your reps. I’m a firm believer in muscle memory and believe a resistance band will take away from that connection between muscle and the brain. When l first started training people l felt weird whenever a client would start talking to me about their personal issues. Whether or not weight loss is the goal, if you want to get the most bang for your buck at the gym, it all starts with the legs. Working bigger muscles in multi-joint exercises like squats, deadlifts or lunges will require more ‘work’ from the heart and brain and higher levels of metabolism compared to exercising smaller muscle groups. Strength training outperforms running, cycling, rowing and other standard cardio exercises when it comes to keeping metabolism revved up, Sink...ler says. Operation Wonder Woman (Heavy Leg Day) 1. Squats Of all the bum-friendly exercises to add to your workout routine, the squat should be numero uno. True, it's the queen exercise of butt-building, but it's also a great movement for athleticism, flexibility, and can even tax your cardiovascular system. 2. Leg Press Leg presses are a good alternative to squats for people with knee and back problems because it provides stability. Leg presses can be superior to squats for building big glutes because the angle of the leg press forces the GLUTES to work through a greater range of motion. To perform a leg press, sit at the leg press machine. Use a wider stance to utilize the GLUTES more (However, for todays workout we performed the movement with a close stance to target the hamstrings). Lower the weight sled until just before your butt rolls away from the seat. Press the weights back up, being careful not to lock your knees at the top.
