Museum of disABILITY History 07.12.2020

It is with a heavy heart that the Museum of disABILITY History, which has been closed to the public through the COVID-19 pandemic, announces its permanent closure at the end of December 2020. Like so many museums across the country, lack of adequate funding has made operations unsustainable. Comprehensive planning has been conducted to identify alternative outlets and partners to preserve the historical artifacts and collection items. Learn more: https://www.museumofdisabilit...y.org/informa/news-and-events/ The Museum of disABILITY History’s spirit will continue through community education and staff development at People Inc. The People Inc. Training Center for Human Service Excellence will continue to operate in the building’s space at 3826 Main Street, Buffalo, NY. We are truly thankful for the valuable participation of partners and supporters in this worthwhile effort to showcase inclusion and appreciate differences. For questions about the closing, information about collection/artifact items and details on discounted store merchandise, contact David Mack-Hardiman at [email protected] or 716.629.3606.
