The Spring/Summer 2021 edition of our Sacred Places Newsletter is now available!

Our Virtual Stations of the Cross is now available. Families may access the virtual Stations of the Cross by clicking the link below or on our website at https:...//cclongisland.org/stations-of-the-cross. A prayer booklet is available for download on our website so families may pray the Stations of the Cross together with our deacons. Families are also welcome to follow the 1.5 mile route through Cemetery of the Holy Rood and complete the Stations of the Cross at a time convenient to them. Prayer booklets and a cemetery map may be downloaded from our website or picked up from Holy Rood Chapel.

Important Dates & Upcoming Events: Mass Schedule, Cemetery Cleanup, and Holiday Hours

Catholic Cemeteries of Long Island wishes you and your family a very Happy and Healthy New Year! In observance of the holiday, our offices will close at 12:30pm... on Thursday, 12/31 (New Year’s Eve) and will be closed on Friday, 1/1 (New Year’s Day). Holy Rood, Holy Sepulchre, and Queen of All Saints will be open for visitation on 12/31 and 1/1 from 8:00am to 5:00pm (Mausoleums close at 4:30pm), while Queen of Peace will be open for visitation from 12:00pm to 5:00pm both days. Due to the winter storm, the cemeteries and offices of Catholic Cemeteries of Long Island will have delayed openings on Thursday, December 17th. We expect our cemeteries and offices to open at 12:00 Noon on Thursday. However, depending on the severity of the storm, cemeteries may remain closed for the day on Thursday. Please check our website www.CCLongIsland.org for the latest updates or call our office prior to planning a visit to our cemeteries. Thank you for your understanding and stay safe!

Catholic Cemeteries of Long Island invites families to attend a Blessing of the Tree prayer service and place a Christmas ornament on one of the trees in memory... of your loved one. During these prayer services, our Committal Deacons will bless the trees in the chapels and offer prayers for the souls of those who have been laid to rest in our cemeteries. Blessing of the Tree prayer services will be held at Holy Rood, Holy Sepulchre, and Queen of All Saints daily from Tuesday, December 1st through Saturday, December 5th. In observance of Veterans Day, the offices of Catholic Cemeteries of Long Island will be closed on Wednesday, November 11th. Cemeteries will be open for visitation on Veterans Day from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with mausoleum buildings closing at 4:30 PM.

In order to maintain the safety of visitors to our cemeteries and of our staff, we have modified our schedule of events for the balance of 2020. These Masses an...d events will allow for the practice of social distancing. Unfortunately, we will not hold our traditional All Souls Day Masses on November 2, 2020. However, a modified schedule of Saturday Masses has been set for November and December at Cemetery of the Holy Rood, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, and Queen of All Saints Cemetery.
