More photos of Ryan's prosthesis. #glazeprosthetics #clickmedical #fidlock #ottobockus @momentumfabrication

Handspring 04.01.2021

Ryan is showing off his @glazeprosthetics Whizzlink transhumeral prosthesis with a @clickmedical Revo lock and magnetic @fidlock_gmbh buckle. This 3D printed manual locking elbow and forearm will allow him to switch out the passive forearm for a myoelectric forearm. Sixteen years ago, a car accident left Ryan with a flail left arm secondary to a brachial plexus injury. Earlier this year, he had an elective transhumeral amputation due to severe pain in the left arm and p...roblems stemming from lack of sensation. The prosthesis pictured is passive, which makes the prosthesis extremely light. In a couple of weeks, Ryan will receive a myoelectric forearm from Glaze with a Bebionic terminal device. A big thanks to @momentumfabrication for making such a beautiful and complex socket. #ottobockus #Revolock #clickmedical #glazeprosthetics #upperextremityprosthetics See more

Watch what Mimi can do with her new hybrid/electric prosthesis. This video was taken from an occupational therapy appointment at Bleythedale Children's Hospital. Occupational therapy is extremely helpful for patients with upper extremity involvement. The sky is the limit for Mimi.

More photos of Avroham and the Handspring team.

Handspring 19.09.2020

This month, Avroham who is 5 years old and has a congenital limb idifference at the partial hand level was fit with his first myoelectric prosthesis. He was fit by the Handspring clinical team with a System 2000 Myolino Arm Prosthesis from Otto Bock. He has 4 years of experience wearing prosthetic technology and has most recently become accustomed to wearing medium definition passive functional aesthetic restorations from Prosthetic ArtWorks. This myoelectric prosthesis allowed him to drink from a water bottle for the first time using both hands. We look forward to all of the activities that Avroham will be able to accomplish with his new prosthesis

Harley, one of our patients in Denver, is showing off his new prototype prosthesis and custom made Denver Nuggets mask. When Harley is not riding his motorcycles, you can find him and his father restoring old motorcycles.

One year ago, Mimi received her first passive prosthesis from Handspring. Last week, she returned for a very successful 3-day excelerated fitting in Middletown, NY when Mimi received her very first hybrid/electric prosthesis. In those three days, her prosthetists Erik Thompkins and Tim Bump casted her, built two different test sockets, then made a working prototype that she can take home. She controls the hand with touch pads at the shoulder bony prominence. At the office..., Mimi was able to work with occupational therapist, Dr. Debi Latour, on bilateral activities that Mimi identified as important to her. These included handling a cell phone, stabilizing a fork with her device while using a knife in the other hand, holding a paper to write or to cut, holding a shopping bag. This device is 2x the weight of her previous prosthesis (passive prosthesis = 2 lbs and hybrid prosthesis = 4 lbs). Her prosthesis consists of a Hosmer shoulder joint, Ottobock Ergo arm with an electric switch to lock the elbow, and and a Steeper Group electric hand with glove. More videos coming soon! See more

Glaze Prosthetics functional passive transhumeral prosthesis is lightweight, customizable, and modular. The forearm can be easily switched out from passive to externally powered or to cosmetic.

Dan Dulin is back in the drivers seat! Driving his #5 Pontiac Sunbird four banger. Before his accident, he drove the modified class. With some modifications to the car’s steering, he expects to be very competitive again. We are so proud of you Dan.

Handspring 17.07.2020

Just a year and a half ago, Dan Dulin was electrocuted while trimming trees and lost both arms above his elbows. This Saturday, July 18th, Dan will be racing again at Bethel Motor Speedway. We will be cheering you on Dan!

Handspring is all about finding what is best for the patient. @myoelectric_outdoors, an experienced myoelectric user, is taking advantage of trialing a recently released Covvi multi articulated hand. #covvi #handspringprosthetics

Take a look at how Handspring used 3D printing to help solve a problem. Kelly has joint hyper mobility and scoliosis which causes her a lot of pain when she has to twist and reach to control her wheelchair. The prosthosis easily connects to her wheelchair and enables her not to overcompensate to get away from the pain in her arm, shoulder, back, and pelvis #jawstec3d LLC did a nice job on this print for us.
