Myth America is wandering about, getting picked up by various podcast broadcasting services (this is surprisingly exciting to me!)...today, it's on Amazon. You can listen for free! https://www.amazon.com/Myth-America//B08JJRGN4X/ref=sr_1_1
Very excited to say that the first Myth America podcast is now up on our website! It'll be a few days or so before it hits all of the podcast syndication sites (Apple, Google, Amazon, and more) but you can listen to the first episode right here! https://mythamericaradio.com//01/12/living-in-mythic-times/
The stories that we tell. Sometimes they live in how we adorn ourselves.
The stories we tell. The stories that tell us. Created by Gabriela Badillo, the exciting series of animated short films 68 Voices, 68 Hearts (68 voces, 68 hearts) retells indigenous tales narrated in their native tongues. Created in 2013 under the premise that no one can love that which they do not know, this series has produced 36 short films so far, with the goal to cover Mexico’s 68 linguistic groups, representing 364 linguistic variants in eleven linguistic families, in...cluding Otomi, Tohono O'odham, Huichol, Tarahumara, Nahuatl, Mayan, and Mixtec. Based on the work of authors like Miguel León Portilla, Andrés Henestrosa, Hermenegildo López, Isaac Esau Carrillo Can, Manuel Espinosa Sainos, among others, as well as oral traditions and stories, 68 Voices, 68 Hearts represents a search for a reinterpretation of Mexican culture through local animators and illustrators.
The stories that we tell. The stories that tell us. Lakota families have historically passed time during cold months by sharing stories and oral histories. COVID has made it difficult to gather this year, so listen to and learn from Indigenous podcasts from the comfort of home.
