Mia Bonsignore (Northeast Angeis 18U Red) is off to great start to her week. In two games against two of the better teams in North Jersey (Ridgewood and Ramapo), Mia is 3 for 7 with 2 doubles and 4 RBIs. This rocket knocked on 2 runs to propel Northern Highlands to a 3-1 win over Ridgewood yesterday.

Sofia Ciarlo (Northeast Angels 12U Red) has been putting in the work for the last 18 months with Coach Allie Yoffee (yes even through the pandemic). In addition to all team training activities, she is at the facility working on her swing and catching technique as well as getting stronger and faster. Sof has been tearing it up this spring. She hit her first over the fence homerun as an Angel this weekend while going 7-9 with 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored against some real good competition in Howell, NJ. In her last 20 games Sofia is Batting .479 and has a .667 slugging percentage, which leads the team in both categories.

MVP ALERT Meredith Fierro (2021), our 18U Black team’s star catcher, recently received the Morris County Scholar-Athlete award for Butler High School! Not only is Meredith a stand-out player and leader on the field, she is a dedicated and talented student in the classroom. This award is well deserved in more ways than one Awesome work Meredith!!! Watch Meredith crush a double in her latest HS game Meredith went 2-for-3 yesterday in a Butler Bulldog win vs. Villa Walsh Academy, and went 3-for-4 in a victory vs. Secaucus on Tuesday. She leads her team in hitting with a .526 average and leads the team in on base percentage with a .609 average. angels Two undefeated teams met last night where the 14U Glen Ridge Renegades upset powerhouse Cedar Grove 4-1. It was the first time in over two years that this Cedar Grove Panthers team had lost. Two northeast Angels, Anne Doud and Sam Marker, each had big 2 RBI singles in what was a terrific pitchers duel. Between the two teams, there were eight of our Angels (Marina, Dani, Bella, Cassandra, Sam, Anne, Sof and Catie). Really good softball like this will get all of these girls ready to excel at the high school level.

BIG SHOUT OUT to our Senior Lena Lutcza for this diving play at 2B for Hackettstown HS Lena is on our 18U Black team and is by far one of the hardest working athletes and Angels. This diving play is an everyday play for Lena. Lena’s uniform is always the dirtiest after every game and practice We are excited to watch Lena continue her career at Centenary University this fall!! In a battle between 2 of the best and brightest players in the state of New Jersey, Alexis Mayer (Pascack Hills) and Isabella Westervelt (Academy of Holy Angels) continued their tremendous starts to their 2021 seasons. Alexis went 3-5 including 2 home runs and 5 RBIs. Through her first 10 games of the season, Alexis has 4 homers, 12 RBI, .516 batting average, and a 1.065 slugging percentage in her junior season. Alexis is also getting it done in the classroom with a 4.62 GPA.... Isabella went 2-3 with 2 walks and 2 RBIs. She is batting .600 for her senior season with a .706 and .840 slugging while playing one of the toughest schedules in North Jersey. Isabella has a 4.8 GPA and a 35 on her ACT. Both Alexis and Isabella led their respective 18u Northeast Angel club teams in both slugging and OPS this past summer. Brooke Donofrio (Northeast Angels 12U Black) continues to tear up the spring at the plate and on the mound. This past Sunday she hit her 4th homerun of the season without even finishing her swing. Brooke now has 4 homers in 21 games this spring with 23 RBI and a slugging percentage of .868 all of which lead the team. She also has a 6-3 record as a pitcher striking out 57 batters in just 39 innings.

Congratulations to our very own Sarah Piening who earned CAA Pitcher of the Week this week. Way to go Coach Sarah. You have had an amazing high school and collegiate career and your Angel family is very proud of you!

12U Northeast Angels Win the USSSA One Team One Dream National Qualifier in Mount Laurel! After falling in the championship game of their last tournament in New Windsor, NY, the 12U Northeast Angels were on a mission this weekend. Saturday was all about pitching and defense as they earned the #1 seed by only allowing 4 runs in three low scoring games against some of the best teams in New Jersey and New York. The bats came alive just in time during bracket play on Sunday inc...luding a dramatic comeback against a strong Hamilton Hurricanes team who had raced out to a 5-0 lead early in the championship game. The Angels have earned the reputation as comeback kids who are never out of a game with their explosive bats up and down the lineup. This was a total team effort with contributions from everyone which ultimately led to a 9-7 victory and the Angels first tournament win. This was a great way to end the fall as we head into the all-important winter training season. The improvement that this team showed from the first weekend to the last was extremely impressive which speaks volumes of the work ethic and heart of these twelve girls. Great job Angels!!! See more

12u Angels played their hearts in an extra innings win on Sunday! Natalie B went 9 innings allowing only 4 hits and striking out 12. Gia B put us ahead with her clutch 2 out single in the 7th.
