Applications for the USA Fencing High School All-American Program and Absolute Fencing Gear All-Academic Team are due TODAY. Due to Covid-19, students have unt...il May 15 to complete the application if needed, but the process must be started by 11:59 p.m. Mountain tonight. The High School All-Academic and All-American Teams recognize high school-aged members for their hard work and dedication both on and off the fencing strip. Athletes with a 3.4 GPA are eligible for the All-Academic Team as well as $10,000 in scholarships from Absolute Fencing Gear. Athletes who earned an E rating or higher are eligible for the All-American Team. Are you a high school student with a 3.4 GPA or higher or who has earned an E classification this season? For the 10th straight year, USA Fencing is recognizin...g athletes for their achievements in the classroom through the Absolute Fencing Gear All-Academic Team where fencers also are eligible for $10,000 in scholarships from Absolute. High school students who have earned an E classification or higher also are eligible for the USA Fencing All-American Team. Deadline for applications is May 1. Due to increasing concerns over Covid-19 in the tri-state area, NAFA North has decided to temporarily suspend group classes and open bouting, effective Tuesday, March 17th, with the hope of restarting classes on Monday, April 20th. This is not a decision we took lightly, however we do want what is best for the health and safety of our students.
