The way we talk about substance use matters.
This is from Canada, but the video has good information about intimate partner violence. Many of the features found in intimate partner violence are also present in family violence. I will try to find local resources for survivors of domestic violence and post them in the comments.
Please sign. There has been a substantial increase in the number of people looking for treatment for mental health and substance abuse issues. It's very important that the stimulus package contains funding for both.

CAR CARAVAN TO CELEBRATE MENTAL ILLNESS AWARENESS WEEK - October 4-10 2020 Sunday, October 4, 2020, at 12 noon. (more info to follow) Each year, millions of Americans face the reality of living with a mental health condition. However, mental illness affects everyone directly or indirectly through family, friends, or coworkers. Despite mental illnesses' reach and prevalence, stigma and misunderstanding are also, unfortunately, widespread.... That is why we will be riding for mental health awareness on Sunday, October 4th. All year we educate, we support, we advocate and we listen. This year, on October 4th we ride to celebrate the front line workers who provide the essential mental health and physical healthcare services during these difficult times. Ride with us to celebrate hope and resilience. Please visit our website at www.namistatenisland.org for more information coming soon.
