NCS Seeking Volunteers for Capital Project Committee Dear NCS Families, Faculty, and Staff: Our school facilities serve as a source of pride as well as a significant investment by our local community. Free After-School Snacks for Students Participating in Activities: Thanks to a support of the National School Lunch Program, NCS will begin offering free after-school snacks to interested students when we return from Holiday Break. As long as learners are staying after school for a club, an athletic practice, or to meet with a teacher, they will be able to pick up a free snack put together by our Food Service Department.
Dinner last night was delicious thanks to J. Bossard's recipe for pozole soup and the Parent Teacher Partnership's most recent fundraiser. If you want to learn how to make this meal (or 120 others!), contact Jennifer Lester via email ([email protected]). The Family Recipe Books are $20 each. Recipes were submitted by parents, grandparents, teachers, support staff, etc. and the funds will be used to benefit the Parent Teacher Partnership.

Dear NCS Families, Faculty, and Staff: Earlier today, the Naples Central School District was notified by the Steuben County Department of Health (DOH) that two High School students sharing the same household had tested positive for COVID-19. However, both of the individuals are fully remote learners, and they have not been in classrooms during the 2020/2021 school year. At this point, the students and their family members have been placed on home quarantine in alignment with... DOH guidelines. However, because neither have been attending NCS as in-person learners, we will continue with our normal school schedule and operations at this point in time. As we begin the 8th week of the school year, I would ask that everyone maintain a focus on mask wearing, social distancing, and regular hand hygiene. We have had a remarkably healthy start to the school year, and it is our collective responsibility to ensure that continues by prioritizing all appropriate safety protocols. As always, please do not hesitate to call or email (585-374-7901, [email protected]) if you have any questions or concerns. While privacy guidelines will understandably prevent me from sharing identifying information, I would be happy to talk about any of the precautions or procedures we have put in place throughout the reopening process. Sincerely, Matt Frahm Superintendent of Schools

This Saturday, October 24th from 10am 2pm at the Canandaigua Wegmans parking lot, the Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition along with the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office will be collecting unused, unwanted medications (over the counter or prescribed), liquids and sharps/needles that must be in a puncture-proof container. Folks will be able to drive-thru for a contactless, drop-off. Physical distancing and masking will be required for all our volunteers. This is a service to our community and no questions are asked at drop off.
October 16 Update from NCS Dear NCS Parents and Guardians: Earlier today, the Steuben County Department of Health (SCDOH) informed me that an athlete on the Dundee/Bradford Boys Varsity Team tested positive for COVID-19. Out of an abundance of caution, the SCDOH also notified me that they would be placing the majority of our Boys Varsity players under quarantine from October 16 through October 22 because of a competition that took place on October 8.... I want to emphasize that the reason for the quarantine has to do with a relatively low risk exposure, and not a positive COVID-19 test for any students or staff members at NCS. In addition, because the quarantine will only impact a small number of individuals, the SCDOH has advised us to continue as planned with our normal school schedule and operations next week. Although this is the first time I have had to communicate with you directly regarding a positive COVID-19 diagnosis in the region, it is reasonable to expect that it will not be the last. As we move further into the year, it is critical that we all remain focused on the well-being of our school community. By taking daily health screenings, wearing face coverings, honoring social distancing, and practicing proper hand hygiene, we can all do our part to keep NCS healthy and safe. As always, please do not hesitate to call or email (585-374-7901, [email protected]) if you have any questions or concerns. While privacy guidelines will understandably prevent me from sharing identifying information, I would be happy to talk about any of the precautions or protocols we have put in place throughout the reopening process. Sincerely, Matt Frahm Superintendent of Schools
