The sun has set on the 9th (and best yet) sailing season of Narwhal Yacht Charters! The year 2020, to say the least, was unpredictable. As a small business owner, I can write a book about how much stress Covid19 caused me but at the end of the day, all of my family and friends still have their health and that’s what matters most. Luckily, once NYC allowed me to legally operate in June, word quickly spread that sailing on NY Harbor is one of the safest (and only) activities... one could partake in. While I have never claimed that taking people sailing for a living is changing the world for the better, I have always found solace in the fact that the experience I offer creates lifelong memories for anyone who steps aboard the Genesis. This year was particularly special for me to see how important it was for my guests to reconnect with one other (many of my charters were reunions between friends and family who were staying at home to avoid contracting Covid19) and to see my guests take in nature and reflect on the beauty of life brought me a heightened, more acute level of appreciation for how lucky I truly am. So many thanks to my customers, both new and repeat, who have turned my dream to sail for a living into a reality! The Genesis and her captain witnessed a plethora of wonderful moments this season; here are some of the highlights behind those smiles: Over 5,000 miles were sailed aboard the Genesis this year and over 38,000 miles since starting nine years ago. That total is beyond the circumference of the Earth! 124 more reviews, all of which were FIVE stars, were written by very happy customers in 2020. The nine year review total is now 982 reviews, 979 of which are five stars and 3 of which are four stars. Narwhal Yacht Charters remains NYC’s top rated boat charter company on Yelp. Furthermore, Narwhal Yacht Charters has now received nothing but five star reviews for 6 straight seasons. What a feat! 7 more couples became engaged and 2 more couples married aboard the Genesis this year, bringing the nine year total to 102 proposals and 5 weddings (all said yes)! Narwhal Yacht Charters was named 2020’s Most Outstanding Luxury Yacht Charter New York by LUXLife Magazine, received the Best of Manhattan Awards Cruises by the Manhattan Business Recognition, and received the 2020 Travelers’ Choice Award from Tripadvisor, which means my company is in the top 10% of attractions worldwide. I had the pleasure of sailing my favorite comedian, John Mulaney, once again! I carved out sometime to sail with my wife; sailing with her is always the highlight of the season for me :) Thanks to my customers, family, and friends for all of the love, support, and motivation along the way! The Genesis and her captain will get some much needed rest this winter but are already eagerly awaiting the 2021 sailing season and the thousands of miles and smiles that will greet us along next year's journey!

The Genesis of Narwhal Yacht Charters sailing on the Lower Bay, south of the Verrazano Bridge!
