Bruce Blakeman for Nassau County Executive taught Laura Curran the meaning of leadership today when demanding she join his cause. While she refuses, Blakeman would sign an Executive Order to immediately eliminate mask requirements for children in schools and camps. It’s a family decision, and one that shouldn’t be one made by the government. If Governor Cuomo doesn’t like, let him sue us. #unmaskourkids #unmask

The County Executive made the decision to freeze the 2022-2023 tax roll, locking in resident's erroneous assessed values that have led to tax increases for hundreds of thousands of Nassau residents. I joined Rich Barrabi on News 12 Long Island to discuss.

2020 has been a year unlike any other. It is important during these trying times to remember what we are truly thankful for. I am thankful for the first-respond...ers who put their own lives on the line to protect (and continue to protect) our township's families, friends and neighbors during this pandemic. I am thankful for the essential workers who kept our nation running by following proper COVID-19 procedures and continuing their necessary services. I am thankful for the teachers who made the best of a tough situation and educated their students virtually while preparing for an unusual school year. I am thankful for the small business owners who pour their heart and soul into their business, contributing to the beautiful identity of our township. I am thankful for the CSEA Local 880 workforce that always gets the job done for the residents of America's largest township. I am thankful for my colleagues on the Town Board who I work with everyday to provide the best possible services to town residents at the lowest possible cost. I am thankful for my family, whose support I could not do this without. And of course, I am thankful for Town of Hempstead residents who have risen to overcome the many challenges we faced this year as a team. #HappyThanksgiving to all. Be safe and stay healthy!
