Bowl wide and shallow with flat fretwork rim. Ornament applied to exterior: Medallions inset with male youth heads surrounded by leaf-and-berry branches. Bowl underside center has petal lobing to which are mounted two side handles with stylized leaf-caps on split volute scroll terminals. Cylindrical support flowing into domed foot with chased leaf-and-berry bunches alternating with geometric ornament on stippled ground. Engraved in script on foot underside: 1888 September 24-1913. Cover raised with loose and fluid flowers in plain and scrolled frames with alternating pointille and stippling. There was an addition to the cover at the turn of the century: Elaborate pinnacle finial with four blossom-tipped tubular projections on spread base that is marked Holland, Aldwinckle & Slater with 1902 date letter and London assay stamp.
