A message from NESS’s founder, Desirie Sykes Why I started NESS Behavior Consulting NESS is a behavior consulting agency that specializes in applying the principles of ABA for individuals with developmental disabilities that impede on their ability to learn. ... Our mission is to educate families and school professionals on how to meet the needs of children with special needs through the application of ABA. NESS was launched in OCT 2018. After working as an independent contractor for several agencies I had the opportunity to work closely with parents in their homes, providing services like parent training, in addition to working closely with school admin. Through these experiences I completely understand the needs of parents and have been able to highlight the lack of understanding of schools. Unfortunately, many of my contracts were through the school district and my obligation to them did not allow for me to represent the views of the parents the way I saw fit. NESS was created to increase parents’ awareness of their essential roles in their child’s educational process and build the capacity of educators to meet the needs of students with IEPs.
