A warm breeze, green grass, and spring flowers are here! To celebrate, visit us at the Hitching Post today from 12-4 snd get your hands on this Prospect Mountain. A cow’s milk cheese, Prospect is dusted with dried flowers you’d find on the side of the mountain (Dandelion! Rose! Clover and more!) and infused with herbs like sumac and sarsaparilla. Needless to say, it’s delicious! Grab some crackers, jam, and olives while you’re there...a picnic is calling your name!

Uh oh, looks like Punxsutawney Phil got in with the goats again! You can hear him yelling across the farm about the 6 more weeks of winter, and that the only way to get through it is to eat lots and LOTS of cheese!!! We believe him! The Hitching Post store opens up again this weekend, Saturday and Sunday 10-4! Stock up!

Nettle Meadow Farm is looking for a farm hand/sanctuary animal caregiver with a strong back, serious work ethic and respect for animals to help care for our aging and differently abled sanctuary animals. This position requires ability to feed and water a variety of animals, provide medications, and clean stalls as well as snow removal in the winter and weeding in the summer. There are a variety of animals including goats, sheep, horses, donkeys, farm fowl, pigs and barn cats.... All are retired or disabled and requiring different levels of care. Light repairs of barns and fencing is a plus. Tractor repair skills and light carpentry skills are a plus. You’ll need a good attitude, heavy lifting capacity, and a willingness to work hard and independently at times in this position. Decent pay and steady year-round work. Nettle Meadow is a cheese company and sanctuary in the Southern Adirondacks just below Crane Mountain. Job Type: Full-time Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour COVID-19 considerations: During the Covid 19 pandemic all workers and visitors are required to wear double masks. Visitors are required to wear gloves. Hand sanitizer is available in multiple locations.
