We're happy to restart our youth program this year. Attendance is limited and the first session is on 6/26. Details on our site: http://newpaltzrodandgun.org/youth-program/
We will have a meeting of New Paltz Rod and Gun Club, held on SATURDAY, APRIL 17 at 1PM. In keeping with COVID protocols, the meeting will be held outside, so please dress for the weather. Additional protocols we will be following include: Upon arrival, grab a chair from the front (or bring your own) and position it >6 feet from others; at the conclusion of the meeting, please return your chair to the front where they will all be sanitized and returned to the clubhouse. Mask...s will be required for interactions w/in 6 feet Bathrooms will be operational in the clubhouse and a mask must be worn indoors The kitchen will be closed so you're encouraged to bring your beverage of choice if desired I'm looking forward to seeing you all! Meredith
The board has determined that there is no safe and comfortable way to hold a March meeting. The next meeting is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, April 17, at 1pm. The meeting will be held outside so snow, rain, or excessively muddy conditions may result in a postponement OR relocation. Watch this space as we progress into April.
I'm pleased to announce we WILL be having a New Paltz Rod and Gun Club meeting, next Wednesday, August 12, weather permitting. Some important notes: -The meeting will be held outside. -To ensure we have enough daylight to cover what will be a full agenda, the meeting will start at 7PM. -A look at the weather forecast and final decision will be made Tuesday evening. If the meeting is cancelled, an email and Facebook status update will be sent then. If you don't hear otherwise,... the meeting will be held as scheduled. -The attendance sign-in sheet will be located under the BBQ pavilion. Please don't crowd the table and be sure to maintain social distancing while signing in. If there's a backlog at the sheet when you arrive, feel free to wait and sign during the meeting. -Paul will be stationed under the pavilion as well to accommodate membership questions. -Dress appropriately in anticipation of lots of mosquitoes: long sleeves, long pants, bug spray. -There will be no food available. However, the board has decided to provide free beverages (water, Gatorade, limited sodas, one brand of beer). There will be no coffee available, so bring your own if that's your choice of beverage. -Social distancing will be strictly enforced. Bring a mask! Chairs will be set up appropriately spaced. Please do not move them. -We'll need set-up and tear down help to get chairs moved to/from the lawn and spaced well apart. It will be wonderful to see you all, after so many months! Meredith-
It probably goes without saying, but during this difficult time for everyone and in order to comply with the NYS PAUSE order, all activities at the club are cancelled until further notice. Additional details have been provided to club members. Stay safe everyone!
Please note that this Saturday's (3/14) Game Dinner is cancelled. We will discuss the possibility of rescheduling at the April meeting.
Power has been restored to the club. THANK YOU to Bob D for working with tree services, home owners, and Central Hudson to get this resolved! We are fortunate to have such a dedicated House and Grounds chairman as Bob. The next time you see him, please let him know how much he is appreciated! ALSO, PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THERE IS NO FEBRUARY MEETING! OUR NEXT MEETING WILL BE MARCH 11.
Please be aware that there is an unexpected power outage at the club. In light of this, the pistol range will be closed until power is restored.
Next monthly club meeting is 11/7 at 3pm. Don't miss it as it might be the last for the year!
As we continue to make changes to operate safely, the next club meeting will be held outside on Saturday, October 17 at 4pm.
Folks As I mentioned at last week’s meeting, this Sunday, September 20, at 8:30 AM I will hold a Beginners Trap Class. The purpose of this class is to provide an opportunity for folks that have never shot trap before to give it a try without any pressure of shooting with experienced trap shooters. From 8:30 to 9:00 we will have lecture. I will talk about how a trap squad is organized and shoots. Frank Farmlett will talk about shotgun handling and safety. Mike Crimi will ass...ist. At 9:00 AM we will start to shoot. Folks will be organized in a regular trap squad, but we will take time to assist/explain as it is your turn to shoot. At 10:00 AM the regular trap shoot will start. If you feel comfortable with what you have learned you are welcome to participate in the regular trap shoot. There will be a $3 charge for the class. The class is limited to 10 people given the time constraint. Please send an email to me at [email protected] to register. Club members have priority and then any family of club members. If more than 10 folks register I will hold another class in a few weeks. thanks Mike Schmidt, Trap Committee chairman.
The weather is looking good for Wednesday's outdoor meeting of the club. The meeting will start at 6:30PM, to ensure we have enough daylight to conduct a full meeting. To minimize setup and handling of chairs, upon arrival, please retrieve a chair from the rack near the clubhouse and sit 6' from others. At the end of the meeting, please return your chair to the rack. Chairs will be sanitized before storage. Alternatively, you can bring your own chair. Remember your mask and t...o observe social distancing. Wednesday will be our annual meeting, with elections taking place prior to committee reports. Please bring your own pen or pencil to mark ballots! Lastly, remember that any bylaw amendment proposals are due at this meeting! Meredith
