Dear Patients, When it is time for your next appointment, you may notice some changes along with our already strict infection control protocols. Our Office will communicate with you ahead of your appointment to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office. Please arrive with a mask of facial covering. When entering the office, we will ask you to use hand sanitizer which we will supply. You will find some in our re...ception area and other places in the office for you to use as needed. You may see that our office no longer offers magazines or other items which cannot be properly disinfected. You are encouraged to bring your own iPad, reading materials, etc. Should you choose, you may wait in your car and be texted when we are ready to bring you directly into a treatment area. Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That means that you’re offered slightly limited options for scheduling appointments. We will do our best to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the office at any one time. With this in mind, we ask that only scheduled patients come to the office. We will ask any extra persons to please step outside while you are being treated. To help us, it is imperative that you arrive for your appointment time. We will be unable to see patients that arrive more than 15 minutes late. We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice. Dr. Askari, Dr. Desai, and the staff hope you and yours have remained healthy and safe during this difficult time. We understand that many things are uncertain and we have found that some patients are very concerned about where they can find emergency dental care. Our office remains closed for routine periodontal maintenances and elective surgeries but starting April 1, 2020 we will open the office every Friday for dental emergencies. Please note, in keeping with social dist...ancing, we will only see patients that have a set appointment time. We will not see walk-in patients. You must abide by your scheduled appointment time, we will not see any patient that arrives more than 10 minutes late to the office. Appointment availability is very limited so please contact us as soon as emergency symptoms begin so we can best accommodate you. Please do not schedule an emergency appointment if you have any COVID19 symptoms or have been exposed to someone with the virus. We have the right to ask you to leave the office should you exhibit any symptoms. Additionally, we will now be conducting emergency teledentistry conferences. Should you have interest in setting up a teledentistry consultation, you can email a request to the office at [email protected]. You will be contacted with the conference details. As the fear of Coronavirus (COVID-19) rises, New York Periodontics & Implants Group, P.C. wants to assure you we take infection control procedures very seriously to prevent the spread of disease. Before you enter the examination room, all surfaces, such as the dental chair, dental light, drawer handles and countertops, have been cleaned and disinfected. We cover some equipment with protective covers, which are replaced aftr each patient. Non-disposable items like the dental... tools and needles are never reused. Infection control precautions also require all dental staff involved in patient care to use appropriate protective equipment such as gloves, masks, gowns and eyewear when needed. After each patient, disposable gloves and masks are thrown away. Before seeing the next patient, everyone on the treatment team washes their hands and puts on a new pair of gloves. Your well-being is important to Dr. Askari, Dr. Desai-Patel, and the staff.
