It’s official! Together with city and state government officials, we’re excited to announce that, on November 7, 2021, 33,000 people will run the #TCSNYCMaratho...n! And we’re especially happy to announce that this field size means that every runner with a guaranteed entry who requested to run the marathon in 2021 will be able to do so! We can't wait to see runners at the start line, welcome back our amazing volunteers, congratulate everyone at the finish line in Central Park, and celebrate our city's resilience at every point through all five boroughs. In short, the 50th running of the New York City Marathon is on! But your registration isn’t finalized just yet! By May 20, every runner with a guaranteed entry to a future marathon who submitted preferences during our resolution process earlier this spring, will receive an email with more details on how to complete your registration. In the meantime, learn more by checking out our updated FAQs: https://bit.ly/3eU9sTq

"As a runner, having an Asian American role model inspired me to keep pushing and kindled my competitive spirit...I was so inspired by a 10th grade prodigy dominating our league because I could visualize my own running in this girl. We were both Asian, both girls, and both high school students." In celebration of #AAPIHeritageMonth, Lan Huse & her fellow #RisingNYRR Youth Ambassadors share their experiences as young AAPI members of the NYC running community. Tatiana Rojas is one of many essential workers who has contracted COVID-19 during the pandemic. Tatiana works on the Case Management Team at Elmhurst Hospital in NYC and experienced shortness of breath, weakness and headaches from March through May. A committed runner who's participated in more than 40 #NYRR races (including the NYC Marathon in 2010 and 2017), she was determined to get back in shape, first walking and then jogging to get her strength back up. Tatiana will be turning 60 years old next month and is planning to run the virtual #AbbottDash5K and virtual #TCSNYCMarathon. Join us in celebrating Tatiana in this week’s #HeroesOnTheRun spotlight, on behalf of Abbott. Read her story: https://bit.ly/2TnxWZH

During high-stress situations, running has always been my outlet and has helped provide better focus in my life. Kelton Miller is a production shift supervisor at Poland Spring Natural Spring Water bottling facility in Hollis, ME. At the height of the pandemic, Poland Spring saw a dramatic increase in demand of bottled water. In such uncertain times, Kelton and his organization found ways to change procedures and ensure staff was safe, while continuing to provide bottled ...water for the northeast. Leadership under pressure is nothing to new to Kelton, as a Marine Corps veteran, he served as a military police officer from 2013 to 2015 in Okinawa, Japan, with frequent trips to Korea and the Philippines to help lead Marine Corps training missions. He continues the challenge of pushing himself each day, running three or four miles a day to relieve stress. That’s why we’re celebrating Kelton in this week’s #HeroesOnTheRun centered around the #PolandSpringKickoff! Read more of his story: https://bit.ly/37nZBBF See more

Running has the power to connect and inspire people. Just ask 6th grader and #RisingNYRR Youth Ambassador Matthew from the Bronx! He and his mother, Linda, have run several #NYRR races together. Running is something that Linda has done since a child with her father, and it’s something that she’s passed on to Matthew. She’s also passed on an appreciation for community and respect. I believe you inspire others through your own experience. Matthew takes pride in his experience embracing his Latinx heritage and empowering other Latinx kids to develop a strong mindset.
