Sending best wishes for a happy, healthy and tidy New Year! Most of us will be ushering in 2021 at home with family. Since there is nothing like starting the new year out stain free and tidy, we're sharing some of the Elves' favorite home post-celebration cleaning tips. DON'T CRY OVER SPILLED WINE Wine may be the nectar of the gods, but on fabric it's straight out of Hades...... We have a secret. It's Wine Away Red Wine Stain Remover. It removes most red wine stains from carpet and fabrics. Bonus - it's also good for removing coffee, blood, ink, fruit punch, sauces, and even pet stains. No wonder the Elves love it! Be sure to follow the instructions on the bottle and do a spot test in an inconspicuous area first. Happy New Year!

Sanitizers to Scents! Oh my! The Elves Gift Edit is here. Here are a few of our favorite gift ideas to keep a home cozy, tidy and beautiful. Or why not treat yourself to a little TLC this holiday season? 1. SANITIZERS, OF COURSE! The days when we couldn't get surface or hand sanitizers are thankfully over, due in part to so many incredible companies that are producing high quality products. One of our favorites is Jabonería Marianella (The Marianella Soap Bar.) With a great h...ydrating hand sanitizer and a sanitizer surface spray, they are a go to for sustainable luxury sanitizers. They also have a travel kit that may just be the perfect stocking stuffer this year. 2. CHARGING TRAY. The CATCH:3 from COURANT (https://staycourant.com/) is a catchall accessory tray that does double duty as a wireless phone charging station. Great looking and a literal powerhouse for organizing the little things - keys, glasses, trinkets and more. Perfect for an entry table or bedside table, and you can even monogram them. No wonder the Elves think they are magical! 3. MASK BINS. No more confusion between clean versus already worn masks with these sweetly labeled little organizers from The Organized House on Etsy (https://www.etsy.com/shop/OrganizedHouseShop. ) We like to place them on the entry table or in the mud room. Then simply whisk away the dirty used masks to be laundered or responsibly disposed of, depending on your mask preferences. 4. SCENTS FOR THE SOUL. In a time when most people aren't able to travel, Homesick Candles and reed diffusers are truly the perfect gift. Their scents are sophisticated and can transport you back to Paris, Grandma's kitchen or that little beach cottage on the Cape. They even captured the nuanced beauty of our beloved New York City. With a scent for every state, multiple countries, unique occasions, and even people, it's time to sit back and smell what matters most. #ElvesRecommend #giftguide #organized #clean #home #gifts

Happy Thanksgiving! Elves Holiday Cleaning Tip: 1. Remove wax drippings from hard surfaces by applying an ice pack or bagged ice until the wax is very cold. 2. Crack the wax to lift off or scrape off with a credit card. 3. Remove any remaining residue with a diluted vinegar solution (remember to dry thoroughly) or a wood furniture cleaner such as Weiman Furniture Wipes. For fabric, follow steps 1 and 2, then professionally dry clean after removing wax. Stay safe, healthy and tidy this holiday season! #happythanksgiving #ElvesTip

Let’s face it. It’s been a rough ride for everyone these past five months. Hopefully you’ve been able to relax and get outdoors this summer, especially if you don’t have a view like this one from a Meshberg Group designed loft in DUMBO. Now it's back to reality. Time to take stock, prepare for the autumnal change of seasons and the next phase of pandemic life. We'd love to help.

T-DAY pre-prep time... clean out your refrigerator! Toss old/expired condiments and food. Throw out that old box of baking soda and replace with new one. Remove odors by cleaning anything plastic (including the storage bins) by soaking in water, baking soda, a couple drops of soap and a splash of vinegar. Still have lingering smells? Dust the bottom of your storage bins with baking soda and cover with paper towels, note the date on the towels and replace every three months. For extra credit, give your crystal glasses a good bath in warm water with baking soda. Rinse and dry thoroughly for maximum sparkle, then store for Turkey Day. Beautiful!

Read on for our simple, eco-friendly but magical wood polishing tip! First, dust and polish all the wood furniture in your home. If you don’t have a favorite wood polish, try Lemon Oil. It’s good for finished and unfinished wood, cleans well, prevents cracking, and smells good. For any water mark stains, try a bit of baking soda with a pinch of salt, rub in a circular motion, wipe clean, and then use the lemon oil. Always remove dust before treatment and polishing.

Palm Beach is a special place. For Marshall Watson it’s an inspiration. It even made the cover of his must have book, The Art of Elegance. If you can make it, this talented designer’s upcoming talk at Preservation Foundation of Palm Beach is bound to be an inspiration, too. Photo: Marshall Watson Interiors - Rizzoli Bookstore
