Today Governor Andrew Cuomo announced a series of initiatives to electrify NY transit and school buses as part of the State’s leadership on: Lowering carbon... emissions Boosting #CleanTransportation in disadvantaged communities Improving local air quality & health Today’s announcement includes additional transit bus incentives under our NY Truck Voucher Incentive Program (NYTVIP) to support the five largest transit operators as they transition their combined fleets of 1,300 buses to 100% all-electric fleets by 2035. State agencies will also offer technical planning assistance under a new two-year program to help the five largest upstate and suburban transit operators develop plans to convert to all-EV buses. Under Governor Cuomo’s sweeping climate and clean energy plan, NYS has steadily been growing the number of clean transit buses statewide on its path to decarbonize transportation and drive #CleanEnergy access for all New Yorkers.
