The Nineveh Library is closing at 3 pm on Thursday, December 31st. We reopen on Saturday, January 2nd at 9 am. We all wish you a safe and healthy holiday!

Update on Reopening The Library staff is very anxious to come back to work and see all the patron’s smiling faces; especially the children. But before we can do that, the state guidelines below must be met. We are in the process of changing things around, sanitizing everything and will try to accommodate our patrons to be safe in the Library. Hopefully, we can let you know soon when we will be reopening. A tentative date is sometime in June. Guidelines for Reopening On ...May 4, Governor Cuomo announced a general plan to reopen NY on a region by region basis beginning May 15th. As of May 4th, the regions with 4cls libraries were short of the required criteria for reopening May 15th. The plan calls for only manufacturing, construction and select retail (walk-up or curbside) during Phase I. Libraries at full capacity will likely be covered in Phase 4 (the last one). Upon entering the library, patrons will be required: o To wear a mask while in the library; o Use the hand sanitizer or use hot water for hand washing; o To practice self-distancing. This is being done so that everyone can be safe, including staff. Thank you for your cooperation regarding the changes that are being made to keep all of us safe due to the Pandemic. We are all in this together!

Summer Reading Program This year’s theme is going to be Imagine Your Story. The Program will run from July 20th-August 29th. ... We will be doing something a little different this year. It will be a make project which will be available each week. You can stop by the Library any day (no evenings) to grab your materials, put it together and either bring it back to the Library to show or a take a picture of it. Then can pick out a prize! The New York State Library Association has recommended that public libraries suspend public operations. These are difficult decisions. Therefore, the Nineveh Public Library will be closed as of March 16th to further notice. There will be a suspension of book deliveries as of March 16th to the End of JUNE. As with everything these days, this is subject to change based on new and developing information. We will also suspend the placing of holds as soon as possible. Due to the inclement weather, the Library is closed today. Please call the Library tomorrow at 693-1858 to see if we are open. Our hours tomorrow are 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
