If there's one thing we love as much as the movies, it's matching a delicious cocktail to go with them! As we move forward this year we strive to support Black owned businesses in the food & beverage industry. This Valentine's Day we're pairing IF BEALE STREET COULD TALK with our 'Old Fashioned Justice' made with Uncle Nearest 1856 Whiskey. Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey pays homage to a former slave named Nathan Nearest Green, one of the original pillars of the Tennessee wh...iskey community. Our next Up and Coming talent spotlight is Remi Weekes, who directed the 2020 horror film HIS HOUSE (now streaming on Netflix). This film tells the visceral story of two refugees from South Sudan, who find that there is evil lurking below the surface of the house that the British government has placed them in while they seek asylum. p Dìrísù and Wunmi Mosaku star as the refugee couple and give excellent, star making performances. The film premiered at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival, where Remi won the NHK Award. We are very excited to see what he does next!
