How to find blog posts that rank so you can get ideas and write better articles so you can rank too.
Brother Will leading an advertising round table in just a few minutes. Highly recommended! Still time to sign up. Starts at 11:00 today, March 5.
Refugees are good for Utica. And good for business. For me, it's important that Central New Yorkers understand the opportunity in this. So a salute to Chobani CEO Hamdi Ulukaya and his employees for this engaging look at a local success story. Well done!!
$5,000 donated to the Country Pantry serving families in Clinton, Clark Mills, and Westmoreland in the name of my late brother, Andy Burns. What a terrific way to honor Andy's memory!
You can get the Zoom link below or email me. This will be a fun meeting, especially since I'm giving a speech!
Something I've been running into as I audit websites that I hope you'll find useful: A tagline is mistakenly used as a headline. A tagline usually demands context. For example, "Just Do It" could mean anything. But once you know it's Nike, it's a powerful incentive. Your headline on the homepage must tell your visitor where they are, what you do. Then get them to remember you with your tagline. Clarity trumps persuasion every time.
Our next Toastmasters meeting is an open house on Zoom! We're excited to invite anyone who thinks they might be interested in improving their public speaking skills. There's no obligation, just come see what we're all about. Here's how to get the Zoom link: https://cnybiztalkers.org/attendasguest.html Look forward to seeing you on the 23rd!
I recommend adding public speaking to your content marketing arsenal. Not comfortable speaking before a group? No problem. Toastmasters can help. It's helped me tremendously, and it can help you too.
CABVI is an amazing organization. Great to see Sen. Gillibrand finding that out for herself!
The elements of a successful web page. Pick a page on your site, refer to the checklist, and ask yourself if the page answers these 3 visitor questions: Where am I? What can I do here? Why should I do it? If the answers move your visitor forward, you've got a killer page. Find out more at my site: http://nkbmarketing.com/
I joined fellow Toastmasters Mackay Rippey, Claudette Ferrone, and Tina Pavlot at today's Rotary Club of Utica, New York meeting. Claudette and Tina pitched CNY BizTalkers while Mackay and I gave a mini-seminar on creating a million dollar elevator speech. I hold a special place for Rotary in my heart as all four of my kids were Rotary Exchange students. Great group of dedicated volunteers.
Daughter Tess kick'n it on YouTube! Let's get motivated!!
Joining 3 other CNYBiztalkers tomorrow in presenting to the Utica Rotary a program on developing an elevator pitch with a Million Dollar Message. Looking forward to Zooming with Rotary!
I wrote this history of Memorial Day for SZW Insurance a couple of years ago. It all started right after the Civil War. Interesting history, take a look. More importantly, let's be sure to remember the men and women who gave their lives for their country. Have a great weekend everyone!!
