ANGEL BABIES The Angel Babies Project is in full speed for 2022 and we need your help! We have been elevating our vision of #NeighborsHelpingNeighbors as we mount another big volunteer-driven giveaway event to local, new and expectant families who are in need of resources (diapers, gently used baby clothing, baby gear). Here are some of the must-knows: Any and all who would like to join us and help are invited to fill sign up via a brief Google Form by visitin...g bit.ly/AngelBabiesProject Giveaway date: February 17th at a partner site in Williamsburg, more information to follow. We are also partnering with @thehouseofgooddeeds for this awesome giveaway event to help more neighbors in need! We need help from our neighbors, especially on February 15th and 17th! We are also coordinating local businesses, apartment buildings, bars/restaurants to host donation collection boxes . If you're interested in hosting a box at your local site, let us know! If you have new diapers, new baby essentials, gently used baby clothing and baby gear, we're interested! As we roll out and share information (and a Google map of pins) of donation collection sites, we'll share this info so you can drop them off at an established spot at your convenience. Another success for our Angel Babies team! This past week saw diapers, baby wipes, baby shampoo, new clothes and socks distributed to the Flushing Ave. Family Shelter as well as Cooper Park (NYCHA) Residents Council neighbors and Williamsburg Houses (NYCHA) by leaders from nearby St. John the Evangelist.We gave out almost 4,000 products total!!! COMPOST POST (COM(POST) FOR EARTH WEEK 2021! Did you know: North Brooklyn Angels was inspired by our volunteers to continue collecting our organic waste even though NYC halted such collections during the pandemic? Over the past 10 months, Angel volunteers, always including our very own Santiago, have moved almost 7 tons of waste into the food stream and out of Landfill! We arrive at @DominoPark which generously offers the community an opportunity to drop off food scraps... & green matter which will then be composted in their giant machine as well as through the processing of organic waste by a commercial carting company.
