WINTER FUN FOR KIDS, PARENTS AND FAMILIES: The Winter Season is upon us and the Norwich YMCA has partnered with Norwich High School Ski club advisor, Rhett Genung to step in and offer this fantastic Skiing and Snowboarding offer for area students and families! Unfortunately the Norwich High School is unable to offer the Ski Club due to Covid-19 restrictions but Greek Peak Mountain Resort has permitted the collaboration between last years Norwich High School Ski Club and tran...sferring to a Norwich YMCA Ski Club this season. This is great news for all that participated last year and the many kids and families that might want to try a new sport and family activity this winter. Even with the pandemic still active, outdoor skiing and snowboarding is a social distant activity that even promotes wearing a mask for warmth during the winter and now protection. With this Ski and Snowboard Club, we are passing along the benefits of group purchasing. There is no transportation provided or Chaperones as in years past. "SATURDAY HOURS EXPANDED" We continue to monitor our membership traffic patterns and usage reports. At this time we are going to add some additional hours onto our Saturday schedule. Starting this Saturday, December 12th our operating hours will be from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Additional swim times and gymnasium court times have been added to the reservation system. We appreciate the continued support from our members, which include checking in at the desk, wearing masks, utilizing the spray bottles while exercising and using the facility. A heartfelt thank you to each and everyone of you.

We are happy to report that our Membership base is slowly returning and our facility is filled with positive sounds of excitement, exercise, encouragement and smiles (although we cant see them, we know they are there). Next week we will reinstate our Water Fitness classes in the swimming pool. Each class is limited to nine participants and the instructor. Social distancing will be in place and additional requirements will be in effect as we begin with classes in the pool. We ...will be following guidelines as established by the State Department of Health. Class participants can register online using the "Setmore" link below, in person at the desk or by calling the front desk and speaking to a staff member to assist. We have not had to limit class sizes in the past so this is something new for all of us and we apologize for any inconveniences that you might encounter. Attention Parents: The CARES 3 Scholarship information has been released by OCFS and is now available for parents to help pay for childcare. Parents must reapply for the scholarship if they had a previous CARE scholarship that ended in June. Parents will need an employer letter and pay stubs for all adults in the household. This scholarship is available to parents who are working outside the house and are considered an essential employee and is income qualified (300% of poverty). Payments cannot go back weeks. Parents who apply this week can be eligible for payments this week. If a parent doesn't apply until next week, they would not be eligible this week - only starting next week.
