#testimonytuesday Title: Miracle Baby! "From almost having a hysterectomy to having a miracle baby because of acupuncture, thank you, Dr. Ting! It wasn’t easy and it wasn’t quick, but I had nothing to lose but time and taking a chance, so I made the commitment and leap of faith. I'm beyond grateful that you were recommended to me." -J.B.

Thank you Dr. Lily Yu Gillespie for this great article about postpartum care Little snippet below Traditional Chinese Medicine Postpartum Care (TCM PPC) is a special way for women who have just given birth to nourish their bodies back to health.... Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), also known as Eastern Medicine, is a centuries-old tradition that offers special postpartum care to new mothers. This service is based on the concept of Sitting The Month / Zuo Yue Zi, which simply means to rest for a month after delivery. Historically, sitting the month was reserved for queens, empresses, or very wealthy women who were able to focus on rest and recovery post-delivery. During this golden period, mothers are encouraged to keep abdominal binding on and rest in bed. Abdominal binding in combination with bed rest limits the amount of physical strain, prevents pelvic floor organ prolapse, and most importantly helps a new mother’s internal organs return to their pre-pregnancy positions as soon as possible. As part of the TCM practice, postnatal mothers are encouraged to avoid coldness, wetness, and dampness. In order to achieve this optimal healing goal, bath water is cooked with herbs to expel cold. Special confinement soups and herbal decoctions are prepared to change the viscosity of the breast milk, and to promote healing for the postnatal mothers. For example, Ba Zhen Tang / Eight Treasure Decoction functions to strongly tonify the Qi. In other words, it boosts energy and nourishes the blood. Not only does it augment Qi and harmonize the digestive system, but it also assists patients who are easily fatigued or have symptoms of lightheadedness and / or vertigo due to blood deficiency. This winding GB meridian is often utilized in sport medicine treatments. It goes from the side of the face all the way down to the top of your toe. Helping you flex, extend, and rotate. Here is a post from my friend @aqu.wellness where she breaks it all down for you. Read below! #REPOST ... @aqu.wellness THE GALLBLADDER MERIDIAN: "Which choice is the right choice?" In my latest blog, I talked about Spring health according to Chinese medicine. The organs related to springtime in TCM are the Liver and Gallbladder. While the liver is usually the star of the show, I think it's important to pay attention to what the Gallbladder meridian needs to maintain balance and health too! The GB meridian consists of 44 points and travels the entire length of the body from head to toe. It begins at the corner of the eye and weaves back and forth on the side of the head and behind the ear. From there, it extends to the top of the shoulder to one of my favorite points, GB21. It then continues all the way down the rib cage to the side of the hip and down the lateral side of the leg until it finally reaches over the foot to end at the 4th toe. The gallbladder meridian in Chinese medicine is responsible for our capacity to make decisions and having the courage to act on them. It gives us the push to steer away from procrastination and timidness. It also gives the body the capacity of movement by helping the body's flexibility and tendon strength. It's a part of a system in TCM called the "6 Extraordinary Yang Organs." Unlike the typical "yang organs" in TCM which deal with food and liquids, the GB's only concern is storing bile. It also has a strong influence on the sides of our head and body. Together with the Liver, this pair of organs help stabilize our emotions, promote healthy blood circulation and digestion!
