Dumbbell upright rows are a great exercise for shoulder and trap muscular development and the perfect addition to your upper body workouts. 1. Hold the dumbbells at arm’s length down by your thighs with your palms facing towards you. Your grip should be just less than shoulder width. 2. Slowly lift the dumbbells, keeping them close to the body with your elbows driving the motion. Your elbows should be higher than your forearms through the lift.... 3. Once the dumbbells are level with your collarbone (nearly touching your chin), pause for a second at the top of the movement. 4. Slowly lower the dumbbells back down to your thighs and repeat for the desired amount of reps. #dumbbellrows #dumbbelluprightrow #uprightrow #uprightrows #nycfitnessclub #fitnessbrooklyn #brooklynworkout

The utilisation of the barbell allows both arms to work together, shifting more weight during each rep Muscles Targeted: Biceps Brachii (Long Head & Short Head) The barbell curl is an arm exercise that is also one of the most recognizable movements in all of bodybuilding and fitness. It helps build sleeve-popping biceps and allows heavier loading than many other curl variations. It is usually performed in moderate to high reps, such as 8-12 reps per set, as part of the arm-fo...cused portion of any workout. Benefits Adds strength and size to biceps Also helps with forearm and grip strength Allows for an intense peak contraction at the midpoint Allows for heavier loading than other curl variations #barbell #bicepexercise #nycfitnessclub #gymbrooklyn

Bench press Barbell Lie flat on a bench and set your hands just outside of shoulder width. Set your shoulder blades by pinching them together and driving them into the bench.... Take a deep breath and allow your spotter to help you with the lift off in order to maintain tightness through your upper back. Let the weight settle and ensure your upper back remains tight after lift off. Inhale and allow the bar to descend slowly by unlocking the elbows. Lower the bar in a straight line to the base of the sternum (breastbone) and touch the chest. Push the bar back up in a straight line by pressing yourself into the bench, driving your feet into the floor for leg drive, and extending the elbows. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions. #barbell #benchpress #benchpressbarbell #nycfitnessclub #fitnessfamily #gymbrooklyn #gymbrooklyn

Shoulder press with dumbbells Shoulder press with dumbbells from a seated position always on a bench with an upright back for complete support allows you to lift heavier than the standing version. Any thoughts why? Comment it Sit on an upright bench holding a dumbbell in each hand at shoulder height with your palms facing away from you.... Keep your chest up and your core braced, and look straight forward throughout the move. Press the weights directly upwards until your arms are straight and the weights touch above your head. Slowly lower the weights back to the start position under control, pause, then start the next rep. Bouncing back up from the bottom position places greater strain on your shoulders and means you’re using momentum to move the weights instead of your muscles. #nycfitnessclub #fitnessclub #fitnessbrooklyn #fitnessfamily #motivationalposts #gymmotivation #fitnessmotivation #shoulderpresswithdumbbells

You know when you want to workout but, like, you also don't want your hair to end up in a sweaty mess? Okey, here are 5 Best Workout Hairstyles 1. Two spikelets... or tight Dutch braids This hairstyle will help to style even the most unruly and thick hair. 2. Boxing braids Stylish and comfortable hairstyle that is suitable not only for boxing lovers. Comb your hair and, after parting, divide it into several parts, securing with elastic bands. Take one of the pieces and divide it into three strands. Start weaving a regular spikelet, gradually adding new strands on each side and keeping the parting. Braid the rest of the braids in the same way. 3. Tight knot Comb your hair, create a tall, tight ponytail and tie it with an elastic band. Then wrap the loose part of the ponytail around the elastic. Then secure the bundle with another elastic band or invisibility. 4. Two bundles Comb your hair and part it into two equal parts. Form two high ponytails by securing them with elastic bands. Wrap the loose hair around the base and secure with rubber bands or bobby pins. 5. Ponytail with pigtails Comb your hair and divide it into several parts with parting. Braid the boxing braids up to half the length and secure. Gather the braids and remaining hair into a ponytail and secure with an elastic band. #hairstyles #workouthairstyles #fitness2020 #fitnessclub #gym2020 #gymbrooklyn #brooklyngym #nycfitnessclub

Warm-ups are crucial because they get your muscles ready for activity. Without warming up, you not only risk injury but you also get less from your workout. An effective warm-up gets your muscles to activate via the stretch reflex, an automatic response your body has when a muscle is lengthened. When the muscle lengthens, the muscle spindles (sensory receptors located in the muscle) are activated. The muscle spindles then send a message to your spinal cord, which r...esponds with its own message for the muscle to shorten. Think of the knee-tap test your doctor does. The tap causes the patellar tendon and quadriceps muscles to lengthen slightly, then shorten and make you kick. When you exercise first thing in the morning or after a day of sitting at work, most of your muscles are tight while some might be completely shut off. A warm-up activates the stretch reflex, essentially telling your muscles they need to turn on. Activity requires lengthening and shortening of muscles, and this gets you ready for that. The stretch reflex is intended to protect your muscles from being pulled too far and tearing, so in addition to optimizing muscle production, you are also helping prevent injury. #fitness2020 #fitnessclub #nycfitnessclub #gymbrooklyn #gym2020 #warmup See more

Straight Bar Triceps Extension While facing the cable machine's pulley system, grip the straight bar with your palms facing down. Next, take a step backward while keeping your back straight. Your elbows should remain close to your body throughout the movement.... Once you're ready, use your triceps to push the bar downward until your arms are fully extended, but don't lock your elbows. Hold at the peak of the rep and feel the tension in your triceps for a brief moment before slowly raising the bar back up. Try it and let us know #fitness2020 #fitnessclub #nycfitnessclub #gymbrooklyn #gym2020 #straightBarTricepsExtension #triceps See more
