****ATTENTION RESIDENTS OF CROWN HEIGHTS AND BEDFORD STUYVESANT**** Tomorrow evening at 6:30pm, I ask that you join me as we RELAUNCH OUR AMAZING CHAPTER!!! Come hear the vision plan that will be centered around YOU, the amazing residents of our communities!!! Please share this with your fellow neighbors, for we are going to make history!!!!!
A lack of meaningful opportunities for parole release is a major contributing factor to mass incarceration in New York State and across the country. Repeated parole denials mean that families and communities are deprived of their elders and loved ones, and thousands of people are spending decades behind prison walls. In New York, we can help end this racially-biased parole system that values vengeance and endless punishment above redemption, transformation, healing, and safe...ty by committing to our collective belief in redemption and personal transformation. The People’s Campaign for Parole Justice advocates for decarceration and family reunification through two transformative bills, Elder Parole and Fair & Timely Parole. These bills will ensure that every person in NY State prison has a fair and meaningful opportunity to return home during the course of their incarceration. Andrea Stewart-Cousins, Carl E. Heastie will you commit to supporting these critical and progressive pieces of legislation this session? #ParoleJusticeNY means being true to the values of compassion, forgiveness, and healing by providing people in prison with meaningful opportunities for release.
LIVE NOW: Amazon investors join Amazon workers and front line communities to ask: who is paying the price for Amazon’s profits? As we approach the first anniversary of the killing of George Floyd and the nationwide uprisings that forced a reckoning over structural racism in this country, some of Amazon’s shareholders have filed resolutions challenging Amazon’s business practices towards Black and brown communities, including Amazon’s expanding use of surveillance technology to police workers, small businesses, and communities. #EyesOnAmazon

We're getting fired up for Friday's NYC action. Together Chase Bank and BlackRock are Wall Street leaders ... in financing companies responsible for climate destruction. Time to #StopTheMoneyPipeline. #Divest #BLKBigProblem
NYCC members and allies rallied with CM Constantinides, Speaker Corey Johnson, and others to support Intro 1947, an extension of the Dirty Buildings Bill (Local Law 97), which will cut climate pollution and create thousands of green jobs.
Today we are rallying outside BlackRock’s NYC HQ and virtually online to demand they divest from Palantir, the tech surveillance company considered by ICE to be mission critical to its mass detention and deportation of migrants. We must take action to hold BlackRock accountable for its investments in human rights abuses! Tune in to the action virtually and take action alongside us! Speakers: ... Jacinta Gonzalez, Mijente Gaurav Madan, Friends of the Earth U.S. Marcela Hernandez, Detention Watch Network Jeanette Vizguerra, Sanctuary4All Coalition Roberta Giordano, BlackRocks Big Problem Yousef Zakaria, CODEPINK #DefundPalantir #NoTechforICE #SwarmonBlackRock
