Heading to the Long Island Metro Fire/EMS Expo at Nassau Coliseum? Be sure to check out this awesome replica of Squad 51 from the TV show EMERGENCY! Painstakingly created by a paramedic who was personally inspired by EMERGENCY!, the unit will be be joining us from Maine. Reps from the Squad 51 History & Education Project will be on hand to talk about completion of the replica, getting young people involved in EMS, and the lasting impact of EMERGENCY!, which made its debut 50 years ago. Regional Hands-On Training Fire Behavior On the Inside scheduled for this weekend (February 5-6), hosted by the Jamison Road Volunteer Fire Company, has been postponed due to the impending inclement weather. Our thanks to the Westchester County Department of Emergency Services for hosting the 2022 Seminar Series The Five Points of Command with Chief/Commissioner Michael Lombardo (Buffalo Fire Department). Afternoon and evening sessions were held today at the County Fire Training Center. Thanks to all participants! Reminder tomorrow's seminar in Suffolk County has been postponed due to the expected winter storm.

Space is still available at NYSAFC Codes Training, to be held on July 14 & 15 in conjunction with FIRE 2021 in Syracuse! Students will earn in-service codes hours upon completion. We’ve made a few changes to the lineup of classes. Wednesday programs include Course 2827: National Electrical Code Changes; Course 2805: 2020 ECCCNYS for Commercial Buildings: Overview; and Course 2928: Fireworks Displays for the Code Official. Thursday programs now include Course 2859: Drones in Code Enforcement; Course 2831: Truss Truths; Course 2824: 2020 FCNYS Changes Part I Chapters 2-9 and Course 2868: 2018 International Fire Code Changes Part II Chapters 10-80.
