NY State Mountain Bike Series

Registration is open for Race #1 Timber Ridge at Lippman Park. Sign up early!!! This year we will be doing online pre-registration only. Race day sign ups will be at the discretion of the race director and you will have to pay a late fee. Sorry we have to follow Covid safety rules. We are so excited to get back to racing in the New York State Mountain Bike Race Series. Race # 1 is the Timber Ridge XC at Lippman Park. (Registration Opens Next Week) Underdog Race timing is filling in as race director so we are able to hold this race. Races are spread out over the day so to lessen the crowds. We are working on the course and will have it finalized the week before the races. We are looking for help on race day as we are not from the area and will need... some workers and spotters on the trails. Help out if you can. We will be following all local rules for Covid and ask you all to follow the rules so we can have the entire series this year. Bring your masks. Bring your own food as serving food will probably be limited this year at races. We ask that you follow social distancing rules and do not congregate with other groups. Some notes for the NYS MTB Race Series. 1. You will get a bike plate that you will use for all races. If you lose or forget it there will be a $10 charge to replace it 2. Series Points will be kept and the top 3 points will honored at the race series last race. Most Points wins so the more races you do the more points you can score. if you switch classes during the season, your points will not carry over to the next class. 3. This year we have an experimental Ebike Class. They will race in the afternoon with the experts. 1 Lap race. This is experimental and open to change throughout the season. It may not be offered if the venue does not allow Ebikes. 4. This year we will have ONLINE REGISTRATION ONLY. Sorry, but with Covid and all the requirements we have to go to Pre-Registration online only. Sign up early. Of course, we are not heartless and may let you in day of race, but that will cost you and we appreciate you entering early 5. Awards will happen at the conclusion of each category. 6. There are tons of people out on the trails. Be respectful when you are out there. Please keep your area clean and let's have a great season. It is with great regret that we are forced to cancel this years Churney Gurney Mountain Bike Races and festival. Out of an abundance of caution, we feel that at this time it would be irresponsible to have over 400 racer from around the Northeast congregate for the races. We are very sorry but in speaking with the Town of Queensbury Recreation Department as well as other officials in the Department of Health, we have decided to cancel for this year. Take heart, We will be ba...ck bigger and better for next year and the town is in the process of building more trails which will give us other options for the coming year. Until then we hope that you are doing well and are staying healthy. The greatest part of our sport is that even with no races, you can still get out and ride and enjoy the trails. We are planning on having our Fat tire day in January so keep that open and we hope to see you on the trails.
