Marsha P. Johnson was a self-identified drag queen and revolutionary trans activist who played a pivotal role in the Stonewall uprising. The P in her name stood for Pay it no mind which is what Marsha would say in response to questions about her gender. Her work helping homeless LGBTQ individuals through the Street Transgender Action Revolutionaries in the early 1970’s made her a staple in the LGBTQ community and gay liberation movement. #mentalhealthawarenessmonth #mentalhealthmonth #mentalhealthmatters

As we celebrate #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth, we also take a moment to support #AAPIHeritageMonth through the #NYSCelebratesAAPI campaign. This past year, the New York #AAPI community has experienced an increase in hate crimes, racial discrimination and racist attacks. We invite you to learn more about the mental health impact of racism and how it may affect you, or someone you know.
