CLOUDS Discussion with Director Justin Baldoni Oct 24th, 4pm ET free event. Register here: https://bit.ly/3j10RNm... EOL and Wayfarer Studios invite you to join the Cleveland Clinic and Memorial Sloan Kettering for a Discussion with Director Justin Baldoni about the original movie CLOUDS, now streaming on Disney+. Disney+ launched their much-anticipated and critically-acclaimed film CLOUDS on October 16th, and EOL is honored to be hosting a screening and an in-depth conversation with Director Justin Baldoni, Adrienne Boissy from the Cleveland Clinic, Natassia Singh, ICU Nurse from Memorial Sloan Kettering and Michael Hebb the Founder of EOL. CLOUDS is a poignant and beautiful look at the heartbreaking duality of life and a testament to what can happen when you start to live as if each day might be your last. We will discuss the film and the current state of terminal and end of life care in the US. How can we learn from this film? What is COVID teaching us about how to transform compassionate care? Special guest Dr. Shoshana Ungerleider will join the event to share about Take Ten. We have some incredible partners that are joining us at this event: C-TAC, Providence Institute for Human Caring, Memorial Sloan Kettering, The Conversation Project, The Cleveland Clinic, INELDA, Quality of Life Care, Schwartz Center for Compassionate Care, Votive Health, Elisabeth Kubler Ross Foundation, Casa de la Luz Foundation, Institute on Health Care Directives, Carely, Caregiving.com, Archangels, Teaching Transitions - Doing Death Differently, Death Cafe, NEDA, NYZC, NHPCO, Compassion and Choices, Heal Grief, ACPE, Eterneva, The Dinner Party, DoulaGivers, Chaplaincy Innovation Lab, Going With Grace, Eluna, Safe Crossings Foundation, Trust and Will, SWHPN

"In all circumstances connected to death and dying, the most important offering of the caregiver is his or her own equanimity and lack of conflict regarding death." Excerpt from Gil Fronsdal's chapter in Awake At The Bedside (https://amzn.to/3aijXdL): "Engaging in reflections and practices that prepare one for death is perhaps the most important preparation the caregiver needs to do to be ready to respond wisely and compassionately to people facing issues of death and dyin...g. An important role of caregivers is to encourage people to consider the reality of death. To do this with authenticity and credibility, the caregiver needs to have done this for herself or himself."
