Jenna Lawrence, OCRRA's Transfer Clerk, proudly wears her OCRRA mask to keep OCRRA's Office and Transfer Team healthy. Be like Jenna and wear a mask to reduce the spread of COVID-19 - and keep our trash and recycling system functioning optimally. Thank you. #maskupny
Online shopping helps us maintain social distance while preparing for the season’s festivities. You can recycle right by folding cardboard boxes before putting them out for recycling. Also, do NOT put Styrofoam, film plastics, or bubble wrap in your recycling bin. Take film plastics to drop-off locations in our area for recycling. To find a drop-off location visit https://ocrra.org/how-do-i-get-rid-of/plastic-bags/ #RecycleRightNY
Looking to drop off yard waste or food scraps? OCRRA's Compost Site hours have changed with the season. The Jamesville Compost Site is now closed. Thanksgiving meal prep packages are often recyclable. For example, steel or aluminum cans say for cranberries, pumpkin, beans or soup and boxes for stuffing mix or cookies. Find out what can be recycled in Onondaga County and make sure to recycle right with gratitude in your heart this holiday. #RecycleRightNY https://tinyurl.com/Recycle101
Ribbons, bows, gift bags, cards, or wrapping paper with glittery, metallic, or foil elements DO NOT belong in your recycling bin. Reduce waste and support recycling by wrapping gifts in newspaper, brown kraft paper, or opt for wrapping paper with recycled content. #RecycleRightNY
