Where are the families?

With the Thanksgiving season approaching, I am looking to start a 30 day negativity fast. Never heard about it before? Check out this link from Mark Dejesus. A ...negativity fast can develop more hopeful patterns and habits in your life. Also allows God to bless you greater and speak to you each day. Basically comes down to the following... 30 Days of Abstaining From: Talking about situations and people with a negative viewpoint. Pessimistic expressions about people and circumstances. Critical talk about ourselves and others. Complaining of any kind. Negatively gossiping about others. Using sarcasm to hide our negative and bitter views. 30 Days of Intentionally Focusing On: Meditating on God’s love and goodness. Meditating on and speaking out thanksgiving and praise. Declaring who God is and who God says that you are. Speaking life, love and hope to ourselves and others. Speaking solutions and calling forth answers to problems. Focusing on what God is doing and bringing it up in conversation. What a better time of life than to do this now. Who’s with me? See more

Odessa Wesleyan Church is still planning to host the costume parade again this year. The parade will begin at 5:30 in front of the school in Odessa. As far as I know, Odessa is still planning to trick or treat beginning at 6:00. Odessa Wesleyan is also hosting the Odessa Fall house decorating contest again this year. There are two categories. The first one is Houses with homemade decorations or natural, plant themed displays (Hay, cornstalks, flowers...) The second one is any display including store bought items. Judging will be Halloween night. The winners will receive gift certificates to Cathleen Curry Messmer 's shop Curlystitch Embroidery in Odessa. They have a wide variety of items including Sweatshirts, T shirts, Hats, masks, totes and many other things as well.
