Preference will be given to City Residents and previous City employees with satisfactory employment history who are enrolled in college. Lifeguards living outside the City, but within the Enlarged Ogdensburg City School District, will be considered if Ogdensburg lifeguards are not available. ... After receiving clarification from Empire State Development, the city boat launches are back open.

The City of Ogdensburg has closed the Paterson Street and Little Park boat launches as well as the City marina until further notice in order to comply with new COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic guidelines issued Thursday by New York State. The guidelines can be found at Empire State Development’s website at www.esd.gov and by clicking on the ESD Guidance on Essential Businesses link.

The City of Ogdensburg is closing the Richard G. Lockwood Civic Center and Dobisky Visitors Center to rentals until further notice. These safety measures are in place for the public's safety as well as our employees during the coronavirus pandemic. Those renting the facilities will be notified of refunds. We apologize for the inconvenience.

With Major League Fishing’s Bass Pro Tour making its way to Ogdensburg June 26 to July 1, its planning committee will be offering a unique way to pay tribute to the city’s past and present anglers in a special display that will take place during the event’s festivities. The display, titled Fishing For Memories - A Tribute To Past, Present Anglers On The St. Lawrence River will be held at the gazebo in Library Park June 26-June 28 to be viewed by the public during its three ...days of planned festivities called Greenbelt Bass Bash. The plaques will be unveiled Friday, June 26 at noon. The public will be able to dedicate a wooden bass plaque to a loved one from the past who enjoyed fishing on the St. Lawrence River or even honor someone in their life who currently loves to fish on the river. Cost for an 8-inch bass is $20; 10-inch bass are $25 and 12-inch bass are $30. All proceeds will help offset costs associated with the MLF festivities. Submission forms can be found at the Dobisky Center, 100 Riverside Ave., Ogdensburg, the City of Ogdensburg’s website at www.ogdensburg.org or the Ogdensburg Parks & Recreation Department Facebook page at Ogdensburg City Recreation. Forms with payment must be dropped off to the Dobisky Center Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. or be mailed to that location. Checks can be made out to Ogdensburg Parks & Recreation Department. Please make sure that the forms are filled out completely and legible. Plaques can also be ordered online at the Ogdensburg Kiwanis Club’s website at https://www.kiwanisclubofogdensburg.org//8/registrants/new for an additional processing fee of $2. However, the only available option for online purchasing is the 8-inch bass. When you go to the website, Kiwanis will ask you to create an account, when that is complete go to registrations and click on Fishing Memories and fill out the form. Deadline for submissions with payment will be May 22 at 4 p.m. to allow the plaques to be produced in time for the event. The last Family Swim for the season will be Sunday, March 1 from 1-3 p.m. at the OFA pool. The program is free and open to the public.

UPDATE - Family Swim is back on from 1-3 pm on Sunday, Feb. 9! Family Swim for Sunday, Feb. 9, has been canceled due to a lack of available lifeguards at OFA.
