Elisabeth Osei-Kwame completed her internship placement at the Allyn Family Foundation. Having recently graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with her Bachelor’s in Advertising and Public Relations, Elisabeth was looking for a meaningful professional experience at a non-profit organization. She helped with community engagement and outreach, volunteered at the Sankofa Café, and participated in women’s empowerment events. Her supervisor, Tiffany Lloyd believes that Elisabeth has a bright future with her professional and go-getter mentality!

Santosh Pradhan interned at the City of Syracuse - Office of the Mayor - Permits Department, helping with daily operations by performing intake meetings and assisting front-end staff. He was also able to create charts and graphs that displayed information about permits. Santosh felt he improved his people skills and learned a lot about data collection and analysis.

Myriam Butikima, a Biology major at SUNY Potsdam, completed her first work experience as an intern at the Brady Faith Center this summer. Myriam said that children and staff alike welcomed her in like family. She enjoyed teaching youth about garden care and the environment, saying gardens can help during difficult times like today. Myriam said she loved feeling what it is like to have a profession.

Abrahim Kenneh completed an internship at 3 E’s Consulting Group. He applied his expertise in technology to help develop the organization’s technical endeavors, aiding them in their mission to promote and build bridges between community, businesses, and government. Abrahim also conducted research, site maintenance, and community outreach. This internship provided Abrahim with experience he will apply to his future career in Information Management and Technology.

Wilo Matan interned at North Side Learning Center where she assisted with child development. Studying nursing at Onondaga Community College, Wilo learned many transferable skills during her time on the job. In particular, Will felt she improved her communication soft skills as she spoke with the children and her supervisor. She also became very adept at using computers and technology. Wilo was happy for the opportunity to learn skills that will prove invaluable in her future development as a professional.
